Transformation of a corporate system of management and transition to SAP S\4 HANA
On January 26, 2018 FGC UES announced competition on transformation of the corporate information system of management (CISM) regarding production business activities. The cost of works is estimated at 607 million rubles.
Main objectives of transformation are six directions: reliability augmentation and high-speed performance of the automated systems which are a part of KISU; decrease in labor costs of employees; increase in efficiency of control procedures and decrease in "a human factor" at their implementation; ensuring technical capability for centralization of accounting function of FGC UES and creation of the general service center; increase in transparency of accounting records; development of uniform treasury.
For achievement of these purposes it is required to upgrade a number of the information systems which are a part of KISU. It solutions for the investment management, agreements, property, maintenance and repairs, personnel, archives and so forth.
Works will affect executive office of FGC UES, 8 branches "Trunk power grids" (TPG), 36 enterprises subordinated to MES branches, the White Rast specialized production base (SPB) and the Center of engineering and construction management (TsIUS EEC). The total quantity of users of KISU makes 5500 people.
Within transformation it is necessary to implement transfer of systems entering into KISU to the target centralized organizational functional structure. Also in the project progress it is necessary to upgrade a landscape the PUSSYCAT of FGC UES, having executed transfer of systems in SAP S\4 HANA.
SAP HANA (engl. High-Performance Analytic Appliance) is a high-performance platform for storage and data processing which cornerstone the technology of calculations in-memory using the principle of pokolonochny data storage is.
The in-memory database should store information, carry out processing of all requests and perform calculations only in RAM, using disks only for logging and storage of "pictures of a system" for the purpose of its fast and complete recovery.
In the system transformed based on SAP HANA the work optimization directed to interaction of RAM and the processor should be performed. At the same time the pokolonochny method of data storage which in addition to the high speed of reading information gives the chance effectively to use mechanisms of a compression of data should be used. Thus, KISU on the SAP HANA platform should work directly with condensed data, without spending resources for extraction process.
As noted in terms of reference, FGC UES saved up and continues to accumulate large volumes of diverse data including unstructured. There are absolutely new problems of information processing. In SAP HANA a rich set of opportunities for work with such data is implemented. It includes library of the PAL function (Predictive Analytics Library) for problems of predictive analytics, library of business functions of BFL (Business Function Library), function on processing of unstructured texts of Text Analysis, feature set on work with location-based information and also some other the built-in modules. All these functions should be used for creation of models of storage and data processing and writing of internal stored procedures in the specialized SQLScript language. Such approach will give the chance to carry out all necessary processing on side of the platform and as much as possible to reduce the volume of transmitted data between the application server and a database server of SAP HANA that is a critical factor taking into account amounts of data which are saved up in the PUSSYCAT of FGC UES.
Such approach should be used for additional optimization of work of a corporate system at its placement on the SAP HANA platform where the majority of resource-intensive layer functions of applications is given on accomplishment to the platform.
Use of in-memory technologies should allow users to carry out the complex analysis and calculations. The general acceleration of system operation and performance improvement of transactions and reports will give the chance also to implement more advanced analytical queries directly in the accounting system. Those reports which were taken out in a separate analytical system earlier should be implemented directly in a transaction system now and be based on online and data. If earlier users for acceptance of management decisions needed to wait for reflection of last modifications in an analytical system, then when using SAP HANA an opportunity to process the current business processes in a transaction system in real time, since an overall picture and the aggregated key performance indicators (KPI) to detailed transaction data and also the built-in predictive analytics should be implemented.
Besides, at transformation the PUSSYCAT of FGC UES a number of requirements should be considered. In particular, at the time of transformation transition of the company to use of the general service centers (GSC) therefore systems should provide differentiation of the rights and powers taking into account transfer of a part of business processes to OTsO is possible. In addition, in systems instruments of the simplified conducting standard transactions with automatic kontrolyam and checks should be implemented.
In general the project should be executed in two years. Planned date of the beginning of works – from the date of signing of the contract, but not earlier than August 1, 2018.
The contractor will be selected in April, 2018.

Transfer of a corporate information system of management to SAP ERP
"Federal grid company of the unified power system" (FGC UES) within improvement of information business development completed transfer of a corporate information system of management to the new version of the platform SAP AG - from the version SAP R/3 4.7 on SAP ERP 6.0 EHP 4 Unicode. Upgrade is implemented with the assistance of the companies ID Management Technologies and Arteksneftegaz.
The project turned out large-scale: about 4 thousand users, more than six years of operation of a system, more than 2 thousand tested transactions, a large number of the user developments, a set of the adjacent systems integrated with SAP ERP, tight restrictions of a downtime of a system when updating.
Dmitry Gurevich, the vice chairman of the board of FGC UES, considers that thanks to SNP AG services, harmonious work of consultants for the functional directions and the consultants responsible for technical services, at the scheduled time it was succeeded to complete not only the project on upgrade, but also projects of functional development of a management system in parallel executed, having transferred them to the new version of SAP ERP 6.0.
