2018: System implementation of monitoring of network traffic

On December 10, 2018 the STEP LOGIC company reported that it helped to increase efficiency of process of status monitoring of network of head office of Alfa-Bank, having implemented a monitoring system of network traffic based on the solution Cisco.

According to the company, the monitoring system of network traffic based on the solution Cisco is intended for acceleration and more exact detection of the problems arising in corporate network. A system provides to specialists in management of network infrastructure the complete information in real time about all users, devices and traffic both in corporate network, and in a data processing center and in a cloud.

The command of STEP LOGIC carried out all necessary works on development of a solution architecture, start of a system and its components and also on integration of a product with network equipment of the customer. Besides, specialists of the company created policy on monitoring of network traffic. After testing a system was put into operation.

In total during the project specialists of integrator configured more than 200 units of network equipment for collecting of network telemetry. For December, 2018 more than 2 thousand employees of the central office of bank had an opportunity to work in corporate network with the increased level of status monitoring of network. A system provides further scaling at which will cover all employees - it is 23 thousand people in bank departments in Russia and abroad.

Digitalization of economy and partial leaving of financial services in online leads to considerable complication of structure of distributed networks of data transmission, emergence of the next types of traffic that creates additional load of communication channels and nodes of network. Stable network functioning without breaks and failures has for us exclusive value, and we could charge project implementation on system implementation of monitoring of network traffic only to the checked partners. We work with STEP LOGIC not the first year, and the command of integrator, as always, showed high competences and professionalism.

So historically it developed that the enterprises of the banking sector, taking into account critical importance of stable functioning of IT infrastructures, often are pioneers in the field of implementation of high-tech solutions. Alfa-Bank is progressive financial institution which uses the most advanced technologies, including in the field of distributed networks of data transmission.

2012: Operation of the first stage of computer center

At the beginning of the second quarter 2012 the Alfa-Bank bank started operation of the first stage of the new computer center which was created with the assistance of Inline Group company regarding preparation of disaster-proof infrastructure of data storage, it became known on January 23, 2012.

Preparation

Alfa-Bank faced the shortage of the server areas and power capacities for placement of servers and storage systems. Specialists carried out the careful analysis of a possibility of lease of space in commercial centers, however in 2010 the available offers did not conform to requirements of bank.

Results of a research allowed to draw a conclusion on less rational solution - to place rather large number of server cabinets in commercial center, than to create own.

Solution

The project proceeded about two years. Official date of start of the project - 2010, and ended it with input in a system at the end of 2012 of the second queue.
