The name of the base system (platform): | ASCON: Geometrical core of C3D |
Developers: | Basis Center |
Branches: | Forest and woodworking economy |
Technology: | CAD |
The core of geometrical modeling of C3D developed by ASCON company was licensed at the beginning of 2013 by the Russian producer of automated design engineering systems for the furniture industry — Basis Center company. Developing the software products using C3D, Basis Center is going to implement the most modern opportunities of three-dimensional modeling demanded by participants of the Russian and foreign furniture market in design modules CAD.
A system BASIS is a complex CAD and covers all range of design, design, technology and production tasks of the furniture enterprises. Active development of a product and increase in customer requirements to identity of design of interiors and models of furniture set the new tasks which solution required transition to more powerful three-dimensional core for Basis Center company.
"Specialists of our firm carried out the careful analysis of offers in the market of geometrical cores by two groups of criteria: possibility of the most complete accounting of furniture specifics and ratio „функциональность-производительность-стоимость` — the director of "Basis Center firm Bakulina Natalya noted. — Results of more than semi-annual search of an optimal solution showed that in the maximum degree C3D — a geometrical core of ASCON company conforms to our requirements. We hope that joint work with ASCON will allow a system to strengthen BASIS the leading position in a segment of a furniture CAD".
C3D — the core of geometrical modeling developed by ASCON since 1995 and which is the cornerstone of a flagship product of the company — the three-dimensional modeling system KOMPAS-3D. Within 17 years the core continuously developed and reached the level sufficient for its output to the market of a PLM components. Since the beginning of 2012 of C3D it became available to licensing to external developers. The system of licensing of a core means annual license fees (royalty) and payment of the technical support provided directly by the developer.
CAD/CAM/CAE systems developers and application solutions in which processing of three-dimensional models and a two-dimensional graphics is required are among potential users of a core of C3D. Among them there are both companies vendors, and the divisions of the large industrial companies creating software for internal needs. LO TSNITI'S company developing solid-state 3D-modeller, built in a CAM system became the first customer of a core.
