ANC Bashneft and the Arbyte group completed an implementation project of a system of the automated accounting of IT assets of the oil company, the press service of integrator reported on February 4, 2013.
Objectives
The task set to the contractor - creation of the automated control system for software licenses as IT assets, including control of compliance to licenses of the used software, management of software packages (delivery, installation and removal), inventory of IT resources using technology of barcoding, implementation of accounting of IT assets (the movement, movement of the equipment).
As the solution the software packages LANDesk for inventory of computers and management of software packages and for implementation of processes of management of IT assets are selected. The contractor - the Arbyte group.
Solution
At system deployment two virtual servers under management VMware ESX — for the managing server are used and for DBMS MS SQL Server.
Result
According to the results of the project inventory information on a hardware configuration and the set software, including statistics of use of software is collected. The functionality of the centralized distribution of software and technical support of users is implemented. At the same time thanks to technical features of the solution used by Arbyte in remote subnets it was not required to unroll intermediate servers of distribution of software packages, the guarantee that in a remote subnet only one copy of the software package with control of the bandwidth occupied by transfer will be delivered is provided and it is extended to the required number of computers. Specialists of Arbyte prepare for the centralized deployment a number of software packages. In the course of preparation the distribution kit perepakovka providing the software installation, "silent", imperceptible for the user, on the target computer is executed.
During the project of a business intelligence Arbyte analyzed existing and developed required business processes of management of IT assets: purchase of IT assets, receiving IT assets, movement of IT assets, decommissioning and utilization, management of licenses, contract management and suppliers, processing of the request for providing an IT asset (the equipment and software), identification and inventory of IT assets using barcodes.
Cards of lifecycles of IT assets and resources of support are developed.
At the third stage processes of management of IT assets are implemented. The repository of data on IT assets and the related resources, the intelligent system of Process Manager allowing to automate completely regularly repeating business processes is configured. Data not only on configurations of computers, but also information on suppliers, delivery agreements and service, software licenses, etc. are stored in the management system for IT assets constructed by Arbyte.
