Kotofey

Everything began fall of 1935 when in the former catering establishment of the city of Yegoryevsk, the Moscow region the equipment was dismantled, and works on reorganization of the building under industrial enterprise began. Along with installation works in one of premises shoe machines were temporarily installed, and training of workers — future specialists who became afterwards frame of the enterprise began. In September, 1936 generally all transactions of a shoe flow were staffed with the trained personnel, and on December 30 the same year the factory was accepted by the State commission to operation, and the release of the first planned products began.

The 90th

By the beginning of the 90th years the factory produced more than 3 million pairs of children's footwear a year. Then in connection with the known economic reasons long recession began, as a result in 1998 the factory produced only 400 thousand pairs.

Thanks to correctly selected strategy of development of production, creation of new models, fruitful work of all collective it was succeeded to recover from an economic crisis.

In 1996 the Yegoryevsk shoe factory signed the contract for order fulfillment on production of children's footwear with the Italian company "IGI", from its material and under technology control of the Italian specialists. This cooperation allowed factory to improve technologies, to adjust work according to modern requirements. The personnel of factory learned much, the enterprise re-equipped a part of the production lines, bought the new equipment according to the recommendation of partners. As a result the factory could lift to the new level and own product. If earlier the enterprise released children's footwear in a low price group, then now it could offer higher quality of goods and occupy a srednetsenovy niche.

The 00th

Some time the factory continued to take orders from different foreign and Russian producers, loading under them 10% of production, but in 2001 in connection with the increased demand for TM "Kotofey", the factory decided to refuse it.

Successfully to compete, the enterprise needed to solve three problems — to provide stable quality, the competitive range and to create a brand.

In 2001, after long search and thoughts there was a logo in the form of the running Kotofey's cat in boots and a wide-brimmed hat.

The factory successfully used the main advantage — the created image of the Russian producer using only natural materials. The company decided not to change the checked material, but at the same time was engaged in product quality improvement. The agreement was signed with Moscow State University of design and technologies (MGUDT) which specialists developed an evidence-based pilot block for factory, on its basis now and children's footwear is sent away. Within a year work on creation of a new block for footwear of yaselny and low-children's groups was conducted; measurements at five hundred children by all necessary parameters were made: completeness, rise, heel height, etc. The same was done also for other groups of children's footwear. New blocks allowed factory to begin release really convenient, ergonomic and just orthopedic the correct footwear that very important for the growing children's foot.

2013

Children's footwear of TM "Kotofey" is manufactured on four production sites in Russia.

Each of platforms specializes in production of footwear of certain methods of fastening and dimensional groups. Such specialization allows to make high-quality footwear and to have optimal product cost.

Also the company places orders on production sites abroad:

• in Italy — order placement on production of hi-tech footwear under TM "Kotofey" at the famous Italian producers "S.P.A. IMAK" and ORION allowed to get new experience to specialists of our company, this cooperation continues to develop;
• in People's Republic of China — orders on rubber, sports and other types of footwear on the production sites which are sending away footwear for world leaders are placed. In China specialists of TM "Kotofey" which exercise control of production reside.

Total production is more than 3 million pairs a year.
