The northeast federal university is going to limit cash flow in the territory of a campus

In Northeast Federal University (NFU) the pilot project of a digital campus system on the basis of card technologies performed jointly by specialists of the companies FORS, ISG and Almazergiernbank is started the press service of the general contractor reported on February 6, 2013.

The similar systems of high school campus cards are used in a number of foreign educational institutions in the world for a long time. It allows to refuse almost completely a cash turnover in the territory of a campus. In Russia such implementations are still single.

Sphere

The card can be used not only as the uniform admission on the territory of SVFU and the ticket on city transport, but also as the means of payment providing interaction with the modern finance application of the international Visa system. With the card goods and services as in the territory of Russia, and abroad can be paid. The campus card actually cancels need of use of cash in the territory of SVFU.

For acceptance of cards within a campus system it is going to unroll network of peripheral devices as university vending devices selling hot drinks, snack, sandwiches, stationery and so forth.

Specialists of FORS will unroll the informational portal of a campus system constructed on the Oracle WebLogic platform. Holders of cards can obtain the comprehensive information about the given opportunities. In addition to information part, available to all, on the portal there is a closed part intended only for card owners providing access to different services of educational institution including obtaining information on visits, the status in subsystems, participation in vote, etc.

At the heart of the campus system created for SVFU the multiplatform solution lies. Its major part is the customized software application developed by specialists of FORS. It allows to write different information on the chip of the campus card. It is important that record on the card of the additional information necessary for automation of other business processes of the university, can be made without recard issue. It concerns, for example, library cards, procedures of a military and accounting table, etc.

The term of implementation was six months. Users of cards are students, teachers and other staff of university. 2300 cards are prepared for release.

Introduction of electronic cards will allow to increase quality of information on educational process and its results, to reduce time for its receiving and it is essential to lower labor costs on the servicing functions, having given to the management the chance to lift management of university to qualitatively other level.
