Baltika implements DWH of the average corporate level in all basic nodes of IT structure

In the headquarters of Baltika company jointly with specialists of Paladin Inventas company the problem of installation of two disk arrays of DWH of HP P10000 3PAR V800 is solved, the company contractor reported on February 20, 2013. According to the press service of the company, all plants of Baltika in 10 cities of Russia will be equipped with the similar solution.

Solution

Installation of two arrays of HP P10000 3PAR V800 in the headquarters of Baltika in St. Petersburg is complete at the beginning of 2013. They are intended for upgrade of the existing data storage infrastructure in Baltika company, and will be used as the platform for virtual machines. New high-level P10000 3PAR of V800 has the doubled capacity and the capacity by 2.6 times exceeding indicators of the similar systems of the previous level (for example, T-Class). High performance and scalability of the platform well are suitable for big or fast-growing projects, consolidation of crucial data, high performance applications, data lifecycle management and especially for cloud computing.

Details

Each array is constructed based on the cluster consisting of four nodes and the SSD, FC, SATA set of disks. Such configuration provides the high level of fault tolerance, high efficiency of use of arrays at the expense of software of economical conversion (HP 3PAR of Thin Conversion Software) and software of economical selection of resources (HP 3PAR of Thin Provisioning Software) intended for effective runtime allocation of capacity between applications and the maximum utilization of this capacity.

Expectations and plans

The project will proceed and will concern regional branches of Baltika. Also implementation of HP 3PAR disk arrays 7200 is supposed.

Baltika, as a result of integration of the specified storage systems, will receive a scalable, failsafe solution with the expanded functionality characteristic of storage systems of the first level, at the price corresponding to the equipment of the middle class.
