Alaris MNP/LNP Server

The solution Alaris MNP/LNP Server carries out a complex of tasks of support of the postponed numbers. The product allows the telecom operator to interact with service provider for data acquisition about the ported numbers, and to the service provider — to manage storage and processing of number base.

The solution Alaris MNP/LNP Server combines functionality of two systems:

• central MNP/LNP server: is established on network of the provider managing MNP/LNP numbers base and allows it to render service of providing information on the ported numbers to underlying telecom operators;
• local MNP/LNP proxy server: it is installed on the side of the telecom operator and allows to address external service provider for obtaining information on the postponed numbers for the purpose of its further use when routing and tariffing calls.

Local MNP/LNP proxy server

The solution Alaris MNP/LNP Server works in this mode as the local proxy server and performs the following functions:

• receiving updates from the central base of the ported numbers one of the following methods:
  • periodic loading of the files containing changes in the central database. Loading can be performed according to the schedule using standard file transfer protocols (SCP, FTP);
  • a request in real time information on number at each call. The proxy server receives a request from a switching equipment of the operator, broadcasts it in the format clear to the central MNP/LNP server, obtains information and transfers data to the switch. The possibility of caching of requests to the central server for the purpose of economy of money is provided (as requests to the central base of numbers can be rated separately for each request).

• providing information on the ported numbers to a local switching equipment on the SIP protocol or any other protocol implemented for a joint with the switch at an implementation stage.

Central MNP/LNP server

The solution Alaris MNP/LNP Server plays a role of the central server managing MNP/LNP numbers base and providing information on the ported numbers to underlying telecom operators on a paid basis in this mode.

The possibility of horizontal exchange and automatic consolidation of databases of the ported numbers between several service providers MNP/LMP is provided (for example if a supplier of data on the ported numbers is not one service provider, and several independent operators providing information on the subscribers).
