JSC KAMAZ upgrades a corporate portal and increases efficiency of its work

In JSC KAMAZ the solution of the Internet portal on the Microsoft FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint platform is deployed, the developer company in the blog reported on March 11, 2013.

Background

As a part of group of the KAMAZ organizations more than 150 organizations which are territorially located in Russia, the CIS and foreign countries. In divisions and subsidiaries of group more than 55 thousand work human.

"With respect thereto the task to propose the solution meeting the increased requirements of the company was set. We made the decision on implementation of the modern portal solution on the Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 platform", - Yury Shostak, the director of the department of design and development of information and communication technologies of JSC KAMAZ noted.

Existence of a convenient and multifunction system of search was one of the main requirements to the portal. The product FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint became the solution.

Implementation result

Users of "KAMAZ" are given a search capability of documents within the portal and several file storages. On the portal search is conducted in an array of unstructured information (plans, reports, technical documentation, textbooks, instructions, documents which are created during joint work of constants and temporary work groups), and in file storages – in an array of technical documentation (including, documentation of SAP). Every night a system indexes documents, and the next morning the documents created the day before join in all-corporate search.

Each employee having an account in the domain of the company has an opportunity to use the search tool. At the same time search is organized taking into account access rights of the employees recorded in SharePoint Server and file servers that was one of the key criteria which influenced the choice of this solution by KAMAZ company.
