Schneider Electric participates in creation of a power supply system of new DPC of VimpelCom company

The Schneider Electric company completed creation of a power supply system for the new technical data processing center (DPC) of 10 thousand square meters in the territory of technopark of Novoselka in Yaroslavl. JSC VimpelCom acts as the customer of construction of DPC (a trademark Beeline).

The new data center is going to be used for placement of the computer systems which are engaged in service of subscribers of JSC VimpelCom, the systems of billing and financial systems. Commissioning of the first module of DPC is planned for September, 2013. The modular structure will allow the customer to perform step-by-step commissioning of the following five modules within 3-4 next years. In construction of DPC the latest ecological and energy-saving technologies are used.

The contract with JSC VimpelCom provides a complex of works on a system design of power supply of DPC and its scheduling and also delivery and commissioning of electric equipment. Completion of mounting works of the equipment and a commissioning on the first stage of the project is expected in June, 2013.

The project of the systems of external power supply of DPC with a total installed capacity of 30 MW with the highest level of reliability (Tier 4) assumes the double reservation of all systems allowing to perform any planned and unplanned works without stopping of functioning of DPC. In addition to accomplishment of external power supply from two independent sources, the project provides reservation of power supply by means of the dynamic diesel UPS.

The effectiveness ratio of power consumption (Power Usage Effectiveness - PUE) defining a ratio of all energy consumed by an object to amount of the energy consumed by payload for this DPC should be 1.28.

All equipment supplied by Schneider Electric on this object completely conforms to the Russian and world requirements, has high factory readiness, the minimum terms of installation and is expected not less than 30-year life. The equipment list from Schneider Electric includes cells of SM6, RM6, Trihal transformers, Okken cabinets, Canalis buslines, the EMCS system.
