2012: Regional expansion
The company eKassir expands the geography of its presence: in the fall of 2012, the AquiPago payment system was launched in the capital of Chile. To date, more than fifty payment terminals have been installed in Santiago, with the help of which most Chilean mobile operators can pay. The situation for accepting payments in Chile is very similar to the Russian model of 2004-2005. Mobile payment takes place at payment receiving points. Payment of credit card goods and services is common in Western Europe and North America, while cashless payments are not so popular in Chile at the moment. Cash payments are widespread in Latin America, which is an important condition for the profitability of the network of payment terminals. By transferring the flow of payments to the self-service kiosk, the provider will be able to significantly reduce costs and provide customers with a high-quality 24-hour service payment service without queues.
