Leak Blocker was created as a product for information loss prevention. The main the task solved with its help is blocking of external devices.
Earlier authors worked on a similar product in other company, having accumulated real experience of development and use of the similar systems. Having analyzed pluses and minuses of different approaches, a simple and fast system for prevention of insider threats was developed.
Leak Blocker has a full range of functions for the guaranteed protection against date leaks using USB sticks and other external carriers. List of functions:
- Blocking of external devices, including opportunity to permit only their reading.
- Temporary access to devices.
- Lists of the excluded objects: it is possible to exclude computers, users, devices
- Audit of all actions with external devices
- Automatic distribution in the local area network
- Basic protection of modules against the local administrator
- Daily reports on important events
Functions which allow to control only formally date leaks and which can be bypassed elementary were intentionally excluded from a product. Because of it in the program there are no such functions as response to certain content, the filter on types of files, blocking only in working time.
