Novell File Reporter 2.0
The Novell company announced in March, 2013 an exit of Novell File Reporter 2.0 — the new version of the solution for creation of reports on data storage on the basis of information on users. To the companies which need to prevent data loss and to manage their storage, this solution provides access to extensive tools on optimization of network storage, at the same time protecting vulnerable assets.
Having added to the existing Novell File Management Suite, Novell File Reporter 2.0 is integrated both with eDirectory, and with the Active Directory to have an opportunity to provide reports on network storages, files and access rights to these files, at the same time on file servers of Novell and Microsoft. The most remarkable in a new product are "reports on access" which include all users having access to the selected network folder and specify all network folders to which a certain user can has access.
"The growing amount of data, the separate files which are stored in a type, together with need to correspond to politicians of access control forces the organizations to require professional approach to management of such data — Dave Wilkes, the vice president of engineering service Novell noted. — To achieve considerable and long progress, the companies need to conform to standards and requirements of the industry, to observe requirements of the legislation and internal regulations and the politician. Novell File Reporter 2.0 gives them the chance to create reports on the one who creates files in storage what files who has access to each of them are".
New opportunities of Novell File Reporter 2.0 include: and includes new architecture which is at the same time integrated with eDirectory and the Active Directory a SQL database and the web interface for administration; new opportunities of providing reports which provide more close connection with services of the directory; reports on permissions which show who has an access to a certain file or all access rights for a certain user; the trend report which shows growth of amount of data on file servers of Novell or Windows for a certain time frame. The solution also integrates reports which consider the files and folders created by users of eDirectory and Active Directory.
Novell File Reporter 2.0 is available on sale at the price of $15 for one user.
