2023: Internal Performance Testing

Specialists IBS tested the performance of internal systems "" Gazprombank to identify their bottlenecks and improve fault tolerance. The results of the project confirmed the stable behavior of systems under high load. IBS announced this on November 22, 2023.

The project lasted 11 months - from October 2022 to September 2023. Its main task was to improve the quality of fault tolerance of banking systems.

To effectively perform load testing (HT), the IBS project team updated the load model, developed scripts and plugs for new operations. Then IBS specialists redesigned the load profile and testing methods, developed tools for automating the NT process (among them - a collector of test schedules). The team conducted the main load and regression tests, prepared a report with an analysis of their results. In addition, with the help of one-time non-standard tests, the project team analyzed the readiness of the bank's systems for future global changes, tested new versions of microservices and advised Gazprombank representatives on future architectural and functional changes.

Testing used tools such as JMeter, Grafana, Postman, Teamcity, Prometheus, Consul, and others.

During the work, we checked the performance of a single directory of individuals, the ability to receive information from product branches and, databases as well as the process of creating new customer cards. We also tested the security service, the platform/and authorizationsauthentications the internal document management system from scratch. In addition, our team tested microservice architecture and interaction with external systems through MQ and rest-api buses. We worked mainly with two-week sprints with daily status together with the developers, conducted retrospective, etc. The work carried out made it possible to assess the performance of Gazprombank's internal systems and identify their bottlenecks,
said Nikolay Marchenko, head of the IBS load testing department.

Based on the results of regular testing, we adjusted the priority of improvements and business requirements. IBS specialists, based on an agreed list of operations, have developed more than 100 scripts for testing and 74 stubs for external systems. The bank's results were fully satisfied - performance defects were identified and promptly eliminated. As a result of the project, we not only confirmed the stability of the systems under load, but also increased the efficiency of critical business processes,
noted Kirill Borisov, head of the Gazprombank department.

2013

The company's specialists "Aplana" completed the project automated functional testing of the system on the administration of credit operations in OJSC "," the Gazprombank contractor company said on March 20, 2013.

Main thing

Aplana specialists were involved in work in the project in April 2012. In the course of its implementation, a set of functional automated tests covering a significant part of the regression functionality of the customer's credit administration system was developed and automated functional regression testing of the system was carried out. Based on the developed tests, effective quality control of the regression functionality of the system is organized on a regular basis.

Result

The implementation of the design solutions reduced the time of regression testing of the system from 7 days to 5 hours. The risks of critical defects during the industrial operation of the system have decreased and, as a result, the bank's costs associated with downtime have decreased.

Within the framework of the project, the bank's existing approaches to automating functional testing were developed, a testing team was formed that solves the tasks of comprehensive quality control of the bank's automated systems.
