The Baikal state university of economy and the right optimizes expenses on support of networks and telephony

Orange Business Services company jointly with specialists of BGUEP implemented the complex project on optimization of data networks and telephony of liberal arts college - the Baikal state university of economy and the right (BGUEP), the press service of integrator reported on March 26, 2013.

Unity in overcoming

Search of the uniform supplier of telecommunication services capable to provide all requirements of BGUEP was caused by aspiration to optimization of a field of activity, non-core for the university. The optimization purposes - reliability augmentation and controllability of infrastructure, cost reduction on its maintenance and development.

As a result of tender the university selected the plan offered Orange.

Solution

Took the intracity communication network which was integrating 4 branches of the university in Irkutsk at a speed of 100 Mbit/sec. and gained access to the network the Internet through head division as a basis of a data network.

Telephone infrastructure is upgraded by failure from the excessive number of direct landline numbers, implementation of a payment of an answerphone and switching of voice services through inter-chip digital links. The centralized transition to services of city, zone, long-distance and international telephony of Orange allowed to optimize traffic and expenses on telephone communication.

Result

As a result of centralization of services of telecommunications, their transfer under responsibility of the uniform supplier, the university managed to reduce costs on communication services, having at the same time received the qualified technical support of telephone exchange.
