SK "Russian Standard Insurance" starts deployment of the new BI tool

The ATK consulting group company announced on April 2, 2013 a project startup on deployment of the platform for the business analysis of QlikView Business Discovery in Russian Standard Insurance Ltd.

Background

Search by the customer of the new tool for the business analysis - result of dissatisfaction with the existing analytical tools, owing to low data processing rate, high costs, complexity in operation and, as a result, limitation in use of the solution only specialists of actuarial department. When studying the different systems of the business analysis a choice is made for benefit of the QlikView platform, and ATK consulting group became the partner in implementation.

The pilot project shown by the contractor showed high data processing rate using the application based on QlikView Business Discovery, above, than at the tools used in insurance company. Besides, the application created within a pilot project could not only calculate reserves, but also help with work to the staff of analytical divisions.

"If when using of the existing tool users could analyze reserves only by an insurance product and the period, then the application based on QlikView gave an opportunity to do expanded analytics, – Roman Grigoriev, the manager of projects of ATK consulting group noted. – We showed, for example, as using QlikView it is possible to analyze a necessary indicator without binding to strictly certain date, for a certain time frame, to analyze sales of one insurance product by the selected division or the manager. Besides, our application allowed to build forecast values that is important for strategic planning of development of the company".

QlikView allows to solve easily and quickly similar problems: users of QlikView independently, without participation of IT specialists (and it is great advantage too) will be able not only to look for data, but also to check the hypotheses for which, for example, it is necessary to construct several parametrized selections. Besides, it will allow to unload our sheet system and to completely give it to operators".
