AES Ukraine transfers data from the American DPC to Ukrainian

The company Ink completed the project of migration of the systems of SAP for AES Ukraine from corporate data center of the customer, in the USA, in data center in Kiev, the press service of the contractor reported on April 5, 2013.

Solution

At a project definition phase specialists of integrator carried out the analysis of readiness of data centers in Kiev and Exactly, developed a detailed plan of migration on the new server hardware. The SAP landscape included enterprise management systems – SAP ERP with industry solution of IS-Utilities, the data warehouse of SAP BW, risk management system SAP GRC, a portal system, a monitoring system and supports – SAP Solution Manager.

Main thing

The main objective of the project consisted in carrying out the most operational migration of SAP systems with minimum idle time and risks. For this purpose specialists of the company Ink offered several options of migration with the different level of risks. Each option was considered by service of internal audit of the customer, with the subsequent discussion of all stages as with specialists of the American corporation AES, and specialists of AES Ukraine.

Migration of ten systems of SAP with a total amount of databases more than 30 TB is implemented, at the same time idle time of the productive systems made less than two days. The scheme of disaster recovery of productive SAP ERP (IS-Utilities) and BW systems on the remote platform in Exactly with a downtime is implemented no more than four hours. Tuning of high-speed performance of SAP systems and databases is performed that allowed to reduce twice a set-up time of reports, important for business.

Also for specialists of the customer training for increase in level of their competence of operation of SAP systems was provided.
