Date of the premiere of the system: April, 2013
Technology: Cloud Computing,  cybersecurity - Backup and data storage

The Vision Solutions company presented in the spring of 2013 at the world market the solution Cloud Protection & Recovery.

With the introduction of the market of means of virtualization of servers of standard architecture in a maturity more and more heads of the enterprises think of simultaneous use of means of virtualization of different suppliers. And it seriously complicates the general problem of transition to the virtualized and cloud environments.

Vision selects three groups of problems which the companies completing virtualization of IT resources and beginning transition from especially private to public and hybrid cloud services will face. It is protection and data recovery in cloud environments, ensuring smooth operation and disaster recovery and also migration and cross-platform sharing of data.

Solving each of the listed problems, at the same time it will be required to provide accomplishment of four important conditions. First, to give to customers an opportunity of independent connection to a cloud environment with a minimum risk of loss or a compromise of data; secondly, to give an opportunity of monetization of cloud computing to suppliers of the managed services and cloud services; further — to transfer crucial applications from DPC to virtual environment and, at last, to provide protection of traditional DPCs.

Proceeding from these realities the modern product strategy of Vision is also based. In particular, the solution package on migration and cross-platform sharing of data includes the products and services necessary for reduction of load of IT resources. The tasks of neutralization of risks and reduction of a downtime connected with migration of difficult computer environments from one platform on another are assigned to the same products. The channelized product Visioin is provided by several solutions for different platforms.

Three groups of solutions are proposed by Vision and for ensuring smooth operation and disaster recovery. The first resolves issues of protection of public and private cloud environments by means of the vCloud Director Aware Data Protection system. The second is directed to protection of servers (cloud, virtual and physical), the products Double-Take Availability — are for this purpose developed for Windows and Linux, MIMIX Availability and iTERATM Availability — for IBM i and Double-Take RecoverNow OS — for AIX. Issues of protection of the virtual machine without agent are resolved by Double-Take Availability for virtual environments of Hyper-V and vSphere.

Vision solution package on protection and data recovery in cloud environments is called Cloud Protection & Recovery. Its crucial element — the RaaS platform (Recovery as a Service) constructed based on technology of replication of data in real time of Double-Take CloudStack Edition. This solution is aimed first of all at suppliers of cloud services, and on its basis it is possible to provide to clients "reserve DPC as service". Therefore the second Cloud Protection & Recovery component represents the Metered Usage service allowing cloud service providers to pay licenses for the solutions Vision Solutions upon use. It reduces for them a commercial risk and helps to create optimal offers for clients. The developer kit which gives to suppliers of cloud services an opportunity to use the program interface of programming of API for the solution integration of Double-Take configured taking into account individual requests of the customer in the cloud ecosystem closes a new product line of Vision.

RaaS as logical continuation of cloud infrastructure will enjoy popularity, are convinced of Vision. The company is guided by estimates of Gartner according to which universal expenses on this offer in 2012 made 465.7 million dollars, and to the 2017th will grow to 1.2 billion dollars.[1]
