FC Kayrat is founded in 1954 based on Almaty Dynamo. According to resolutions of presidium of the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions of the USSR (of 4/27/56, V. Grishin) and Council of Ministers of KAZSSR (of 6/1/56, D. Kunayev), as a result of consolidation of DSO "Harvest" with "Kolkhozshy", the new Volunteer Rural Sports Society (VRSS) of KAZSSR was formed on June 18, 1956.
It was named - Kayrat. Since July the soccer team of Class "B" - "Harvest" (Alma-Ata) is renamed in Kayrat.
