The administration of the Samara region expands a region transport scope with services of control and a geolocation

The Mobile TeleSystems company (MTS) provided with services of M2M (machine-to-machine) in monitoring systems of public and commercial transport in the Samara region about 7 thousand units of the rolling stock, the press service of operator reported on April 12, 2013.

Sectors

The total amount of SIM cards of MTS for navigation services looks as:

• municipal projects - GLONASS terminals with SIM cards of MTS - more than 1 thousand city buses, trolleybuses and trams and more than 500 units of the special road equipment - 30%
• commercial structures - the trading and logistic companies - control of cargo transfers and employees, monitoring of machines of collection, industrial enterprises - monitoring of own vehicle fleet, firm of the taxi.

"Data services between devices are the main driver of growth for the market of corporate mobile communication in the region today. At the end of 2012 the number of the corporate clients of MTS using M2M-solutions of MTS grew by one and a half times. The most significant growth showed a segment of mobile navigation. As practice shows, remote monitoring of transport allows to cut down maintenance costs and operation of the park of vehicles for 15-20% and also to solve singular problems, such as ensuring the increased security, optimization of logistics. Thanks to navigation solutions important social tasks are carried out: improvement of functioning of public transport and municipal services, creation of more comfortable urban environment.
