Bogomolov Oleg Alekseyevich

Bogomolov Oleg Alekseyevich is the governor of the Kurgan region (it is chosen for a period of December 29, 2009 till December 29, 2014).

Biography

Was born on October 4, 1950 in Petukhovo of the Kurgan region, Russia.

Education

1957 - 1967 - studied at Petukhovsky high school.

1972 - graduated from Kurgan machine-building institute majoring in "Mechanical engineer".

During study actively participated in public life. At school it was repeatedly elected the member of the committee of Komsomol, at institute worked in student's construction groups, played sports, was a member of national team of area on handball^[1].

1987 - in absentia graduated from the Sverdlovsk higher party school.

Career

1972 - For 1975 - worked at Kurgan machine-building plant as the design engineer of department of the chief technologist, it was elected the member of the committee of the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League of department and plant, the secretary of the Komsomol organization of department of the chief technologist.

1973 - it is elected the member of bureau of the Kurgan city town committee of the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League, the non-staff secretary, then the alternate member of Kurgan regional committee of the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League.

1975 - 1981 - the senior engineer, the commissioner, the commander of regional student's construction group Kurgan.

1977 - 1991 - the member of the CPSU.

1981 - 1987 - the instructor of department of promotion and propaganda of Kurgan regional committee of the CPSU, the secretary of Communist Party committee of PSMO "Kurgantyazhstroy".

1984 - graduated from correspondence department of the Sverdlovsk higher party school.

1987 - 1988 - the second secretary of the October district committee of the CPSU of Kurgan.

May, 1988 - March, 1990 - the chairman of October district executive committee of Kurgan.

Since March, 1990 - the chairman of October regional council of People's Deputies, is elected the deputy of Kurgan regional council of People's Deputies.

Since October, 1991 - the Chairman of the Committee on management of municipal property - the deputy head of administration of Kurgan.

February, 1992 - on October 9, 1993 - the chairman of Kurgan regional council of People's Deputies of the XXI convocation.

1994 - 1996 - the chairman of Kurgan region duma of the I convocation.

1995 - 1996 - one of leaders of regional national and patriotic public association Democracy.

On December 8, 1996 - it is elected the governor of the Kurgan region.

Since December, 1996 - the member of the Federation Council of Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Chairman of the Committee for the CIS, represented the Federation Council in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

Since September, 2000 - the member of the State Council of the Russian Federation.

December, 2000 - is elected by the governor of the Kurgan region for the second term.

December, 2003 - July, 2004 - the member of Presidium of the State Council of the Russian Federation.

December, 2004 - is elected by the governor of the Kurgan region for the third term.

Since 2004 - the party member United Russia.

On December 25, 2009 - on representation of the Russian President Bogomolov's candidacy was approved by region duma for investment with its powers of the Senior Official of the Russian Federation for the next term.

On December 29, 2009 - it is elected the governor of the Kurgan region for the fourth term.

Achievements in career

The vital activity of Bogomolov promotes implementation of plans for social and economic development of the Kurgan region and strengthening of its positions among other regions of Russia. During its work as the Governor the situation in the area changed cardinally. Considerably the amount of a gross regional product, investment into fixed capital, income and expenses of the consolidated budget increased. At the end of 2008 the Kurgan region took the second place in the Russian Federation on growth rates of investments into fixed capital.

Many vital production and social facilities are constructed: CHPP-2, cultural and exhibition center, sports complexes, perinatal center. 1.5 million square meters of housing are entered, the level of gasification of the area increased from 4 to 37 percent. The Kurgan region wins first place in the Ural Federal District on production of grain, milk, vegetables and potatoes per capita. Since 2000 on all key macroeconomic indicators the Kurgan region had steady positive dynamics of development. In 2007 the area is awarded with the sign "Gold Ruble" and recognized the first in rates of economic growth in the Ural Federal District^[1].

Public activity

On April 19, 2010 - took part in installation of the first gas turbine of production of General Electric company on Kurgan CHPP-2. He personally tightened a wrench the first nut of an anchor bolt in the basis of its fixture and left the autograph for memory^[2].

On February 10, 2011 - participated in the ceremony devoted to the beginning of construction of the new modern pool in the center of Kurgan. Oleg Bogomolov promised that the new construction will be given to sports school which is engaged in training of athletes on swimming^[3].

On June 22, 2011 - participated in a solemn meeting in Day of remembrance and griefs on the central square of the city of Kurgan, to the devoted 70 anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. Opening it, Oleg Bogomolov noted that "today residents of the Trans-Ural region pay a tribute of respect and with gratitude remember all who in 1941-1945 were at war, worked, gave the life for rescue of the world and the Fatherland, happiness of future generations"^[4].

On June 28, 2011 - took part in opening of the Commemorative plaque with names of the firefighters who died at execution of an office debt which was placed in the foyer of General Directorate of Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia across the Kurgan region^[5].

On February 14, 2013 - participated in a forum of the people of the Trans-Ural region under the name "Relay of work, patriotism, the world and friendship - to young people", devoted to the 70 anniversary of formation of the Kurgan region which took place in the big hall of the Government of the Kurgan region^[6].

On February 22, 2013 - took part in a capsule tab with the address to future generation in an elevator subfoundation^[7].

On February 26, 2013 - welcomed winners of the Certificate of honor of Kurgan region duma. A high award 33 representatives of different professions were awarded. Among them - employees of agro-industrial complex of the Trans-Ural region, medicine and education, were recommended for a decoration on-stage performance groups, representatives of industrial and construction complexes and also the systems of civil defense^[8].

On March 29, 2013 - participated in a grand opening of the traditional All-Russian tournament on Greco-Roman wrestling devoted to memory of the honourable builder of Russia, the honourable citizen of Kurgan and the Kurgan region Nikolay Vasilyevich Paryshev^[9].

It is awarded with Orders of the Badge of Honour and Friendship, an award of Russian Orthodox Church of the Reverend Sergey of Radonezh of the II degree, the award "For Fidelity to Duty" of the World academy of Sciences of complex security, the award "Ruby Cross" of the International charitable foundation "Patrons of Century", Moscow St. Petersburg the medals "65 years of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945", "In Memory of the 850 Anniversary", "In Memory of the 300 Anniversary", "For Merits in Carrying Out the All-Russian Population Census", a gold medal of the Russian fund of the world "For peacekeeping and charity", a gold medal of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation "For a contribution to development of agro-industrial complex Russia", gratitude and the letter of acknowledgement of Presidents of the Russian Federation, the diploma of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Certificate of honor of the Federation Council of Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, a medal of the Federation Council of Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation "For merits in development of parliamentarism", the Certificate of honor of Kurgan region duma and dr^[1].

Full member of Academy of problems of diplomatic sciences and international relations.

2000 - 2003 - issued the following patents for inventions:

• No. 2199639 "The device for service and repair of interfarm space of multi-span constructions".

• No. 2190073 "The transformed scene of spectacular constructions".

Hobbies

Hunting, fishing. During a summer season - work on a personal plot.

Likes to sing to the guitar, to play sports.

He is married, the father of two daughters.
