ActiveCloud by Softline: Publication of applications

The ActiveCloud by Softline company announced in April, 2013 start of the new service "Publication of Applications" allowing to provide the centralized access for users to remote applications and significantly increasing the level of protection of corporate data.

"The publication of applications" is a new service of ActiveCloud company within service IT consulting constructed based on new technologies of Microsoft. This service gives to users an opportunity to get convenient and secure access to the different applications and data necessary for business solving of tasks.

If earlier the user for remote access needed to configure and connect VPN connection, to enter the login and the password, to create a RDP session, to be connected to a server desktop, once again to enter the login and the password, then now it is enough to come to the address of the protected website and to get access to a list of applications which are published for this user. Applications are easily started by one click of a mouse, and their list is updated automatically both on the website, and in the Start menu.

The published programs have neither external, nor functional differences from started locally that allows users to work with them easily. At start of the published annexes server resources are used, and all data undergo processing in the protected information corporate storage. In case of session interruption for any reasons, at repeated connection all earlier started applications are opened automatically. At the same time results of work are not lost.

Service has several advantages:

• the accessibility to multifunction applications by means of web pages and the SharePoint portal;
• the accelerated implementation of new business applications and fast updating of already used;
• application deployment on the server is made once, without requiring installation on each computer;
• performance improvement at slow communication channels;
• the increased data protection level;
• for connection to internal applications the HTTPS protocol with SSL enciphering which removes need of application of a virtual private network (VPN) is used;
• the risk of data theft at loss or theft of the mobile device is excluded.

Enhanced capabilities of the publication of applications using the solution Citrix XenApp can be interesting to users of mobile devices based on iOS and Android.
