Bell Integrator implemented expert system of the analysis and decision making in TsPPK

Content

JSC Central Suburban Passenger Company is the largest carrier of passengers among the suburban passenger companies of Russia. Daily about 1.3 million people use company services. The company performs the suburban message across the territory of ten Territorial subjects of the Russian Federation, including: Moscow, Moscow, Kursk, Vladimir, Ryazan, Tula, Kaluga, Smolensk, Bryansk and Oryol regions.

Project

Implementation of expert system of the analysis and decision making (ESAPR). In the IV quarter 2011 the project on development and deployment of expert system of the analysis and decision making on the analytical QlikView platform in JSC Centralnaya PPK allowing to reveal effectively ways of cost reduction of the company in general began.

Project Tasks

The ESAPR system consists of two connected subsystems:

  • Platform of a system business of the analysis of QlikView. Serves for providing a panel to end users with the analytical reporting on the basis of the tickets given on sales. Providing data to users for the analysis is possible both by means of the "thin" client, and by means of the "fat" client of QlikView.
  • Database management system. Serves for implementation of storage and management of input data and also for data preparation for the analysis.

Within the project tasks were solved:

  • "The plan-fact analysis" on the basis of information on revenue and plans for revenue to reveal and estimate accomplishment of plans for revenue. Compare revenue development to the same periods of previous year.

  • "Job evaluation of cash desks" on the basis of information on revenue and the number of the sold tickets in certain time frames (hours, day) the assessment of intensity and efficiency of cash desks and cashiers at stations is carried out and recommendations about the optimal working schedule of cash desks at stations are offered. For decision-making on change of number of cash desks the intensity and efficiency are estimated up to the specific cashier.
  • "Control of integrity of data" Control of integrity of information loaded into a System by composition check, accuracy of the data and respect for technology of their processing at different stages. The panel of data visualization integrates all information, admissible for processing, and makes process of work with a system available for a wide range of users (employees).

Work of the user with the ESAPR system is carried out through web ‐ the interface using any installed browser (for example, MS of Internet Explorer of version 6.0 or above). Within the project works on integration with an automated system of payment of control and accounting of journey in local electric trains were performed.

Result

Implementation of expert system of the analysis and decision making in JSC Centralnaya PPK provided high-quality and first information support for company management and allowed to optimize key business ‐ processes.

The plan of further development of a system which includes both expansion of the operating functionality, and the solution of new tasks is made:

  • On the basis of the tickets given about sales and the existing schedule to estimate load of local trains and also to make decisions on optimization of the schedule, quantity and structure of the plying trains.
  • On the basis of the tickets given to elicit about sales the facts of violations of regulations of work of ticket clerks.

Makarov Sergey., Head of information technology of JSC Centralnaya PPK: "The convenient tool for decision support allowing to estimate efficiency of services of the company and to reveal ways of decrease in loss of income in a foreground mode became a project deliverable. For development of technical specifications requirements from passenger and marketing departments of the company were collected. The staff of JSC Centralnaya PPK highly appreciated functionality of new service already now".

On a response of the customer in November, 2014, use of expert system increased efficiency and quality of personnel management, provided effective monitoring of the cash registers and a passenger traffic, promoted identification of violations of regulations of work of employees, receiving in the automatic mode of recommendations about the optimal working schedule of cash desks at stations according to load of cash windows. Taking into account scales of activity of Central PPK servicing several million passengers daily application of expert system allowed to save time of the specialists involved in processing of the arriving information.

Implementation of the innovation methods of automatic control and management of the large volumes of information arriving from separate and the geographical distributed sources in real time, became for Central PPK an important stage of process optimization of enterprise management and consecutive transition from traditional monitoring systems and classical reporting systems to information management using an expert and analytical system, specified in Bell Integrator.
