The non-state pension fund of power industry completed creation of the platform of calculations

The non-state pension fund of power industry and IBM corporation announced on April 24, 2013 creation of the infrastructure platform on the basis of server solutions of IBM Power.

Base

Having faced growth of the customer base, the fund made the decision on creation of the corporate the integrated management system (IMS) which should integrate automated control systems for key business processes of the organization, including not only maintaining retirement accounts, but also financial accounting, customer relationship management systems (CRM), contact center, some other automation systems bek-and the front office. A hardware platform for a new information system - server solutions of IBM Power.

Potential

The president of NPF of power industry Irina Lisitsyna noted: "Thanks to the IBM Power servers request processing of clients takes read minutes now. Implementation of a hardware-software complex of similar level will allow Fund to solve a number of problems, including reliability augmentation, ensuring uninterrupted operation of functioning of processes, a qualitative support and maintenance and also providing adequate monitors and managements. The implemented complex meets all current requirements of business process automation of Fund and provides the considerable potential of its development in the future".

Details

New IT infrastructure is constructed on two IBM Power 750 servers with 32 POWER7 processors in everyone installed in data processing centers of NPF of power industry in Moscow and Tula. In each data center it is used (Power 750) server with technology of virtualization of the servers IBM PowerVM, VIOS. For the organization of the selected data storage network segment the Fund uses IBM System Storage SAN24B-4 and storage systems of IBM DS5100, DS4700 and DS4200; the tape library IBM of the TS 3200 model is in addition applied to ensuring data backup of the AIS "Pegasus".

Results and participants

As a result of transition to the new platform:

• significantly the efficiency of work with retirement accounts, including automation of new pension transactions increased;
• as a result of project implementation it was succeeded to reduce holding time of a system that provided decrease in operating expenses on its operation.

Runtime of client requests in a system was reduced several times (from minutes to seconds, and on a number of requests – from several hours to one minutes). Implementation of new infrastructure cut down expenses on support of a system to 30%, increased the availability level, transmission rate and archiving of data. The average time of a response of the application to requests of users was reduced by 20%.

Creation of the infrastructure platform is executed by Krikunov i Partnery Business Sistemy Ltd company. The KPBS company made solution development, supply of equipment of IBM and setup of a hardware and software system. The final stage of experienced and production operation was supported by Da Sistems company.
