Dell SonicWALL Network Security Appliance

Product
Developers: SonicWALL
Last Release Date: 2013/05/05
Technology: Firewall

The SonicWALL Network Security Appliance (NSA) firewall allows the organizations with an average number of employees, to provide to subsidiary companies, educational and public institutions multilevel protection against the sophisticated attacks and control of use of applications.

The Dell SonicWALL device of the NSA series advances traditional firewalls of other producers due to a number of the improvements characteristic of the equipment for large enterprises and systems with network connections 10GbE.

Firewalls in a stack

Devices of the NSA series are created as scalable multinuclear hardware architecture, use the patented mechanism of the deep analysis of packets for one pass – Reassembly-Free Deep Packet Inspection (RFDPI). Containing from 6 to 24 cores these firewalls of the next generation have sufficient computing power for check of all network traffic, irrespective of ports and protocols, for identification and blocking of threats before their penetration into network and do not create "bottlenecks". Unlike the competitive firewalls requiring two different devices, Dell RFDPI integrates in itself powerful opportunities of a built-in firewall and an intrusion prevention system (Intrusion Prevention System, IPS).

A broad set of interfaces (10GbE SFP+), fault tolerance with preserving of a status (Full Stateful High Availability Failover) and high-performance decoding of SSL provide to the organizations of the average size the complete functionality usually available only in devices of network security of a corporate class.

Reference point on SMB and reduction in cost of ownership

The solution is focused on the organizations of the average size. The management system of Dell SonicWALL Global Management System (GMS) gives opportunities for the consolidated management of the distributed platforms. It gives the chance to manage thousands of Dell SonicWALL safety controls, simplifies administration and reduces total cost of ownership.
