The Starbor company preferred Columbus company and the solution proposed by integrator on the Microsoft Dynamics AX platform - Columbus WMS for project implementation of automation of a warehouse complex, the press service of integrator reported on May 16, 2013.

Background

"Using the complete solution Columbus WMS on the basis of Microsoft Dynamics AX, the Starbor company will be able to involve at full capacity the areas and resources of a new warehouse complex from the first days of its work", - Vladimir Puchenkov, the head of practice of Warehouse Management, Columbus of Russia and CIS noted. – First of all a system will support functions of lot-based accounting and the organization of address storage in the distributor's warehouse".

Expectations

Automation of the warehouse Starbor complex will allow the company to implement accurate accounting of the arriving products on expiration dates, dates of pouring, container volumes, to check existence of necessary certificates and excise stamps during acceptance and control of a complete set.

Work with batches will be conducted by each client, according to the arrived requests. A system will provide effective management of processes of storage and distribution of batches in a warehouse, selection, packaging and shipment of orders, will support a complete and partial inventory in real time.

Project Results

On October 31, 2013 the consulting company Columbus announced project completion of automation of a warehouse of Starbor company system implementation of management of Columbus WMS.

"In general possibilities of products which we estimated were comparable to our expectations. The offer of Columbus was more expensive, but we considered that the fault tolerance and scalability of the solution on the basis of Microsoft Dynamics AX are much higher" — Kirill Kozlov, the Chief information officer of Starbor company noted.

The Columbus WMS technology helped to organize Starbor operational accounting on a number of characteristics, specific to alcoholic products:

  • on series and range of numbers of excise stamps,
  • to batch numbers of production of products,
  • to dates of pouring,
  • to container volumes.
