2020: Forecast of Markets and Markets

More than global market of access control by 2024 will grow by 60%. These data are provided in the report on results of the conducted research by Markets and Markets company.

The world market of access control in terms of money will increase from 7.5 billion dollars in 2018 to 12.1 billion by 2024.

Analysts connect growth of the market with demand of solutions on control of rise in crime around the world, technology achievements and implementation of wireless technologies in security systems, the growing urbanization in developing countries.

2014: The market of wireless ACS is at an embryonic stage of development

Analysts of IFSEC Global company conducted in the summer of 2014 a research among the organizations of the different direction and scale of activity. Specialists in the field of installation, integration and distribution of the ACS from Great Britain and the USA and also users of systems from such sectors as charitable organizations, consulting took part in the project, law and[1].

As it became clear, only 6% of a total quantity of the companies use completely wireless technologies. 17% apply the mixed solutions – combine the wireless and wire systems. 51% use the traditional wire systems with cards and counters. 21% of respondents reported that in their company there are no such systems yet.

Current situation, of course, gives ample commercial opportunities to producers of wireless ACS, however this market exists in the conditions of the high competition. Participants of a research told that they use structures of 19 different producers, in particular, of TDSi, ASSA ABLOY, Paxton, etc.

The vast majority of respondents considers that control systems of access are more reliable in comparison with locks. The most part of respondents holds the opinion that those who still use locks put himself at unjustified risk. Most often it is small enterprises. Only 14% of the companies numbering staff more than 50 people have no access control systems. Among the companies which staff exceeds 50 people do not use the ACS of 43%. One of the polled companies has no systems of wireless access control. And only 5% of small enterprises use a combination of wireless and wire ACS. For comparison, among large like those companies there are 16%. However, according to every fourth of five respondents (79%), for the next several years the number of the used ACS both in apartment houses, and in premises of the commercial organizations will increase many times.

In the traditional wire systems cards or counters – the most widespread technologies are used. 71% of the business organizations which control access to the territory using electronic developments have them. But not all are happy with the wire systems. 30% of the companies which apply wire technology, consider it too costly for upgrade. 8% complain that they too often have malfunctions; 11% consider that these systems are too difficult for installation. Even among those who say that they accept exclusively wire systems 80% believe that operation of wireless ACS is integrated to smaller difficulties.

18% of users of the wire systems (or even not electronic) say that in comparison with the wire systems wireless ACS are protected less.

Those who already apply wireless technologies can judge them, proceeding from personal experience. Three quarters of representatives of the companies, whose systems are at least partially wireless, agree that wireless technologies at least do not concede them to traditional analogs.

68% from those who do not use wireless devices are not informed that these technologies consume much less energy, than, for example, magnetic locks. About a half of the same user group does not know about some other advantages: the cost of installation costs much more cheaper (49%); they are suitable for a broad spectrum of doors (45%); they have a support of RFID technologies (42%).

Authors of a research from IFSEC Global conclude that the managing director of buildings, to installers of the equipment and integrators which work with wireless technologies it is necessary to face smaller problems. 57% of those who use or install wireless ACS, say that they have no difficulties with systems; 43% of their owners are happy with the traditional wire systems.

21% of respondents among the main problems of wireless ACS select their high cost and complexity for installation, 14% speak, as service of the ACS runs into money.

But it is a superficial glance as it should be taken into account that for wireless developments cables are not required and that to set them, it is not necessary to pay for work to electricians.

2013: Forecast of Global Industry Analysts

In six years the amount of the world market of the control systems of access using electronic cards will grow by 3.4 billion dollars — such is the forecast of experts of Global Industry Analysts company. The state and corporate customers will become sources of growth.

The interest of large government structures in control systems of access is mentioned for a long time: they make one of the largest vertical markets for card ACS. Such systems are used in administrative buildings, on objects of a power complex, in defense laboratories and correctional facilities. Analysts connect it with the fact that storage of access codes on electronic cards at all its vulnerability nevertheless is more reliable, than practice of input of passwords from keyboards.

Interest in safety of business information everywhere increases today; in the report on the research GIA the fact that in modern conditions of an effect of date leak can yield huge financial and moral losses is separately noted. At the same time, as experts consider, the market of card ACS experiences also a number of difficulties: a part of end users still did not grow to serious approach to protection of the objects, the market of biometric solutions actively develops, the cost of installation of the ACS is still very high in comparison with systems on digital codes.

In this sector the USA, and the most fast-growing — the Middle East where during the analyzed period the annual average gain of 13.2% is expected remains the largest market in the world still. At the same time from product segments of the market systems on smart cards most quicker develop — the annual average gain will make over 10 percent here. The American region is in the lead, obviously, owing to traditionally high culture of protection and rather recently accepted course towards increase in public vigilance. Besides, some of the most strict safety rules for the airports which were recently become even more tougher — and all this continues to stimulate demand for access control systems in the States, in particular, and on systems using smart cards. However experts consider that for use of new market opportunities it is already not enough to integrators to offer only installation of systems: it is necessary to analyze carefully conditions of objects of the customer and to offer the services corresponding to protection tasks.
