The Choice Hotels International corporation increases quality of the analysis of the business information by means of Microsoft SQL Server 2012, the press service of Microsoft Business Solutions company reported on May 27, 2013.

Background

The decision on implementation is caused by desire of corporation to provide high availability of an online management system for real estate, crucial for business. During peak loads the volume of transactions in a system can reach 75 thousand / page. In addition, Choice Hotels International wanted to increase efficiency of operations on data analysis in real time and to improve opportunities for creation of reports.

"Using our system we manage a huge number of hotels, all information on them is stored in the single database. Taking into account a difference in time zones, there is always a hotel which time works at present in the day mode. Therefore providing high degree of availability of the database is very important for us, - Narasimha Sampat, the engineer of the Choice Hotels International databases noted. – Microsoft SQL Server 2012 allowed to solve this crucial problem and to reduce transition time by our standby server from several minutes to 15 seconds, thereby having increased quality of the provided services.
