Alexandrinsky Theatre of A.S. Pushkin completes the project of upgrade of corporate network

The NETGEAR company and the Russian state academic drama theater of A.S. Pushkin (Aleksandrinsky) announced on May 27, 2013 project completion on adjustment of network infrastructure in theater.

Equipment of theater was carried out within the first stage of implementation of the strategic concept "National laboratory of the innovative theatrical media technologies and training aids" which main idea is implementation of new information and telecommunication, optical and sound-speech means in the system of theatrical, theatrical and educational and educational activity in federal scale.

Appointment

Functionally network equipment is intended for ensuring work of a wireless network on all four stages and in theater auditoriums and also for connection of IP video cameras using Power over Ethernet technology. Access isolation for different user groups gives the chance to carry out more granular control for each of these groups. For example, for the audience who will have an opportunity to use tablets directly during the performance. Or students of theatrical universities which will have an Internet access, to materials for training and to benefits. The broadcast video flow from IP video cameras will register in storage systems for further processing.

Equipment

For the organization of a core of network three ProSafe XSM7224S switches with 20 optical ports of 10 Gbit / c are purchased. Need for the speed of 10 Gbps is caused by a big data stream from IP video cameras of high resolution.

For the access level and further switching and also for ensuring a power supply of access points and cameras after the SWARM, theater purchased 39 stekiruyemy managed switches 2 of the ProSafe GSM7228PS level with the excellent budget for a power supply of Power over Ethernet (to 384 W) which functionality can also be expanded to the 3rd level that will allow to improve network in the future.

For creation of an optical network fiber units of ProSafe AXM762 are used, and installation of switches in a stack is implemented by means of special optical cables.

Three high-performance wireless ProSafe WC7520 controllers will manage 130 dual-band access points. Each of controllers can manage at most 50 access points. Devices work in a stack that monitoring and control allows to exercise of all access points. The fourth (reserve) controller which becomes more active in case of failure of one of three main controllers of a wireless network is used for bigger reliability in a stack.

As the system of protection against network threats ProSecure leader in the line - STM600EW3 with a three-year subscription to all updates is selected.

In the project progress more than 300 devices of NETGEAR of a corporate class are united in networks, including, controllers of a wireless network, switches, access points and the unified system of protection against threats.
