Having compared offers of several vendors, the Golder Electronics company made a choice for benefit of solutions of consulting company Columbus based on Microsoft Dynamics AX. "The solution Columbus for 60% met our requirements and that is especially important, included the module for management of loads. For supply chain management of Golder Electronics company the solution Columbus SCM including the module of management of loads was proposed. In reference books of a system technical characteristics of transport, registration information, data on drivers and forwarding agents are put. Columbus SCM allows to plan precisely loading of transport and to monitor all process of transportation of goods.

At the organization of transportations schemes in which several loads on arrival in one point are consolidated in one vehicle can be used and begin to move along the general route. The functionality of merge and splitting loads in Columbus SCM allows to calculate automatically new characteristics of each such delivery.

Implementation of Microsoft Dynamics AX and solutions of Columbus for supply chain management came to the end in November, 2011. According to Anatoly Karashchuk, integration of the new IT platform took place in the normal mode, in close cooperation with consultants of Columbus: "Consultants well know a system, but not quite well are guided in our business. We know the business, but not so well knew Microsoft Dynamics AX. Of course, we represented some things differently, discussed, looked for an optimal solution. Actually all who face project implementation of comparable scales pass through it".

After start of Microsoft Dynamics AX the Golder Electronics company purchased the complete solution for management of financial, trade and purchasing and logistic transactions. The logistic module developed by the Columbus command gave to the company an opportunity of end-to-end management of transportation of goods – from emergence in the system of the new order before tracking of a route and control of arrival of a load in an endpoint. There were new opportunities of control of loads at all stages of merchandising and accounting of stock balance.

It is important to note that after project implementation purchasing department and logistics Golder Electronics refused use of tables of Excel for internal accounting. Now all arriving data are registered only in a new system. "If earlier work was separated, and the accounting was carried out at the same time in 1C and Excel, then now activity of these departments was consolidated in Microsoft Dynamics AX. The new module considerably expanded analytics of logistic processes, for example, we had new instruments of tracking of loads and the analysis of the reasons of their delays", - Anatoly Karashchuk comments on implementation.

Advantage of the module Columbus to management of loads is the possibility of individual preference according to needs of the customer. "We finished separate things in a system, the benefit of Microsoft Dynamics AX allows to make it. In particular, added information on customs codes in the different countries where we work with loads. Some opportunities would like to upgrade – for example, now we are going to review one of reports on logistics".
