Выход Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 7

At the beginning of August, 2015 the official announcement of the solution Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 7 created with a careful eye to simplicity and profitability of implementation of OpenStack in the big companies took place.

The innovation representing highly scalable and  failsafe cloud platform of the corporate level based on OpenStack release which is released in April, 2015 under the name Kilo provides close interrelation, crucial for architecture of OpenStack, with the Linux operating system.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 7 is created with a careful eye to simplicity and profitability of implementation of OpenStack in the companies

The platform received the Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform Director function facilitating accomplishment of daily operations on  management of cloud infrastructure and  providing resources. This tool is constructed on the open source TripleO and includes a number of corporate technologies among which there is a management tool lifecycle, Foreman and software of Spinal Stack.

By means of the new platform  fast and safe transfer in  a cloud of OpenStack of crucial applications and also high availability of computing nodes  using services of automatic monitoring and  switching at the failures implemented in Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS is provided.

In Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 7 expanded functions of control over network ports at the level of separate virtual machines found application that will allow telecommunication operators to increase security in the large OpenStack cloud environments.

Besides, the new platform supports incremental backup,  the NFS and POSIX file systems, direct routing between tenants and  the external gateway through IPv6 and also the new means of ensuring of high availability of Neutron routers and instruments of monitoring and  the reporting prolonging time of continuous operation of the equipment.

The new version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform is  the fifth iteration of a cloud platform of Red Hat for the first time provided in  2013 and  which was widely adopted in  a public sector, financial institutions, telecom industry and  education. Red Hat cooperates with Cisco within ensuring compatibility of the OpenStack platform with the Cisco UCS computing system.[1]

Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform is updated to version 6.0

On February 17, 2015 the Red Hat company announced a release of version 6.0 of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform platform.

Model of interaction of services and components of the RHEL OpenStack Platform 6, 2015 platform

Among opportunities there is Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 6:

  • Support of IPv6, both for provider network, and for networks of clients of a cloud. IPv6 can be used both for physical networks, and for the virtual OpenStack Networking routers (Neutron) in the stateless and stateful modes.

  • The Neutron High Availability functions which agents of Neutron in the active-active mode for the purpose of ensuring high availability allow to configure.

  • Support of opportunities of Single root I/O virtualization technology (SR-IOV) and also the new driver which allows to implement the virtual switchboard on the party of the network interface card of the server, without creating load of software.

  • Support of Multi-LDAP of domains which are serviced by one node with services of identification that simplifies administration.

  • Full support of a component for creation of high-performance clusters of Sahara (earlier there was a technology preview), which allows to process loadings with Big Data.

  • More full integration with the block devices Ceph with new opportunities for the OpenStack Compute components (Nova) and OpenStack Block Storage (Cinder), including a full support of diskless computing nodes and function of almost instant start of virtual machines.

  • New opportunities in a stage of the technology preview: bare metal provisioning (deployment of nodes without software) and support of the mechanism of deployment and updates of TripleO.

2013: Platform presentation

The Red Hat company announced on June 13, 2013 product output of Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform implementing ideology of an open hybrid cloud.

The Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack platform is created with orientation to experienced developers of the cloud systems, telecommunication companies, Internet service providers and providers of a hosting of public clouds.

It integrates in itself the popular operating system and the fast-growing platform of creation of cloud infrastructure, allowing the organizations to be rebuilt instantly, in response to the growing requests of consumers without prejudice to availability, security and high-speed performance of applications.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform is purchased on model of a subscription and consists of the following components:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server. The safe and certified environment for operation of OpenStack application servers (computing nodes, data storage nodes, control nodes) plus the scalable, high-performance Linux operating system for guest virtual machines;

  • Red Hat OpenStack. The scalable, failsafe platform optimized and integrated with Red Hat Enterprise Linux for development of the managed corporate or public cloud.

Through Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform experienced developers will be able to project and unroll infrastructure OpenStack, focusing on increase in level of services, development of applied tools and adaptation of opportunities of the platform, and a problem of ensuring integrity of the code Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server and OpenStack to assign on Red Hat.

As a part of Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform a set of layer functions of the enterprise which allow to unroll with confidence the applications tested and certified on compatibility with hardware and the software; provides predictable, stable lifecycle of applications and also data protection of SELinux of level of the defense enterprises. The platform extends through the developed ecosystem of the certified partners delivering the software, services in deployment and setup.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform can be purchased since July, 2013.
