Administration of Parabelsky district of the Tomsk region

Parabelsky district is located in the central part of the Tomsk region and stretches from the southwest for the northeast. In the north it borders on Kargasoksky district, in the east – on Verkhneketsky, in the South and the southwest – on Kolpashevsky and Bakcharsky districts, in the West on the Novosibirsk region. In a northwest part in the territory of the area there is a Cedar City municipal entity of the Tomsk region. Distance from the village of Parabel to Tomsk – 405 km.

Population: 12.5 thousand persons. Population density of 0.35 people on 1 ^sq.km

The traditional directions in economy of Parabelsky district – fishing, furs procurement, collecting of wild plants. 10% of the working population are engaged in the industrial sector of economy. Oil and gas production is conducted. The agro-industrial complex where 3% of the working population work, is focused on the meat-and-milk direction.

The forest industry is provided by Talinovsky timber mill and Narymsky timber industry plant.

The village of Parabel in 2000 celebrated the 400 anniversary from the date of the basis.
