Content of DirectGov is generated by government departments together with a command of service. The main access to services is provided by means of the website though there is also a number of mobile services.
In addition to mobile version exists as well the television version of DirectGov which represents analog pages of a teletext exists also the interactive television version supported by a number of operators of paid TV of services. The activity of DirectGov also implements on social networks Twitter, Facebook and nayoutube.
Attendance
For the beginning of 2010 attendance of a resource makes more than 20 million users a month. The site was visited by 100 million users from the moment of its start in 2004.
History
2010: 171 services
Results of development of services for 2010:
- On the DirectGov portal for 2010 171 services, including 47 municipal services were available.
- Tax services became one of the most popular: a design of tax deduction (23.7 million transactions), payment of income tax (19.8 million), all transactions – 57.68 million
- Online registration of vehicles: cost reduction on issue of driver's licenses from 17 pounds (direct mailing) up to 17 centers (using the Internet)
- Organization of support of farmers: saving 16.5 million pounds a year (15%) thanks to creation of regular forms for filling of documents
- Economy made about 8 pounds on each address and in general about 300 million pounds for 2 years.
- 10 million registered users – every 6th citizen was registered in a system
- For January, 2010 the number of visits of the website grew from 11 to 27 million a month
- The model of the electronic government focused on needs of citizens and business is created
- The model of the electronic government created in Great Britain use as well other countries: Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Ireland, Bulgaria, Egypt.
Directions of development
For the beginning of 2010 the following directions of development of service were declared:
- By the principle "tell creation of authorization once" for citizens and business
- Transfer of elements of the electronic government to a cloud (G-cloud)
- Change of a form of communication with the population, direct contact with officials (Government 2.0)
- Search of ways of additional reduction of the budget
