Additions

As of November 2021, Sentinel Cloud Services supports applications installed on customer computers. This improvement will enable software publishers to apply cloud-based, user-centric licensing, management, and reporting technologies for the first time to monetize software installed on customer computers, as well as software with a hybrid delivery model.

This technological innovation will allow software publishers to review their business models and gain the fullest understanding of how products are used to offer better service to end users and reduce costs.

Monetization Cloud

According to information as of November 2021, the introduction of the Sentinel cloud approach to monetize all software products, regardless of whether they are delivered as a service, or installed directly on customer computers, will allow software publishers to achieve the following benefits:

  • Pay-as-you-use pricing model support - The introduction of pay-as-you-go business models will allow you to enter new markets and remain competitive when selling cloud applications and traditional applications installed on customer computers.
  • Licensing of users, not hardware - linking licenses and rights to users, not to hardware, enables higher mobility of end users, which ultimately improves user experience.
  • Control Capabilities - Remote real-time license control helps optimize support services, accelerate marketing initiatives, and boost sales.
  • Analytical capabilities - The availability of detailed information on the nature of use ON both at the level of individual functions and at the level of the entire product allows you to adjust and optimize decision-making processes regarding product development and business conduct.
  • The benefits of virtualization are the ability to deploy software in a fully virtualized environment, with no fear of duplicating or misusing the software.
  • Reduce IT dependencies-Eliminating the need to install and maintain local servers to manage licenses reduces IT costs and reduces software implementation times.

2019: Transition to the Thales Sentinel brand

The Sentinel Cloud Services solution was originally developed by SafeNet, acquired in 2015 by Gemalto, which, in turn, was bought and absorbed by Thales in 2019. As a result of these transactions, products for monetizing software SafeNet began to be sold under the Thales Sentinel brand.
