The customer's task – planning and control of the course of repair of a roadbed in the territory of the city of Krasnoyarsk.

Solution:

• for planning of repair it was used by a CAD on the basis of AutoCAD;
  
• for control of information on road condition necessary for calculation of amount of materials for their repair, it was applied by GIS on the basis of AutoCAD Civil 3D (AutoCAD Map).
  
  

Result: the first control using GIS showed that contractors significantly overestimate the material consumption on the estimate. Overestimate of the estimate on 20 machines of asphalt (58 tons) and 1.5 km of curbstone is revealed, and the general economy on repair only of two streets made about 4 million rubles (in the prices of 2000).

With the new system which received the name "GIS on Repair of City Roads of Krasnoyarsk", the accuracy of calculations increased from 80 up to 96%. The amount selected to contractors for repair decreased from 1.5 million rubles on 1 km of the road to 886 thousand rubles. And for a year of operation of a system the city saved 1.5 billion rubles (in the prices of 2000).
