Physical and mathematical lyceum No. 239

The school is organized in 1918.

Originally it was located in Lobanov-Rostovsky's house, "the house with lions", at the corner of Admiralteysky Avenue and St. Isaac's Square (Admiralteysky Avenue, 12). The school repeatedly changed the numbers and names. So, in the late twenties — the beginning of the 30th it was called 57 FZS — "Factory Seven-year of a Name on January 9th", in 1931 became a nine-notch and the name changed on 57 FZD.

In 1936 the school became ten-year-old and again changed the name - now it was "the 14th high school of Oktyabrsky district". In 1941 — 1942 when uniform numbering of schools on the city was entered, the school purchased number which carries to this day - 239.
