Virus scanner of Cezurity - a free cloud service which easily and quickly finds active malware in critical files of a system on the computer and treats the detected infections.
Multilingualism
The Cezurity company announced on August 1, 2013 a release of the version of the Virus Scanner with the English-language interface. Since August 1, 2013 technical support of service can be also received in English.
"Support of English will open our service for very wide range of people, - Alexey Chaley, the CEO of Cezurity noted, - though we did not plan for this year any steps on an exit to foreign markets, we see interest in the Scanner from users from the different countries - we often had to answer questions of the English-language interface. On the other hand, we expanded possibilities of our virus laboratory which will obtain more quickly information on the threats extending worldwide now".
The version of the Virus Scanner with support of English can be loaded on the page of the official site Cezurity.
Virus Scanner 3.0
In version 3.0 the new Deep Insight mechanism which is intended for detection and treatment of butkit – the malware which are implemented into a system so deeply that the majority of antiviruses experience difficulties both with detection of this type of threats, and with treatment is used. Besides, the new version of the Scanner allows to be protected from the harmful expansions created for local browsers – Yandex.Browser and the Mail.ru browser.
The problem of detection and treatment of butkit is one of the most difficult for the anti-virus industry today. Butkita are the malware infecting the boot sectors of the hard drive of the computer. The data necessary for start of the operating system are stored in the boot sectors. Modification of these sectors leads to the fact that the malware is started before the operating system and an antivirus and, thus, has an opportunity to intercept system management. Often butkita include a rootkit components which help to hide harmful activity from antiviruses. For example, when a system or an antivirus addresses the infected object, the malware substitutes it for the original, free from infection, and by that deceives.
The Deep Insight mechanism developed by Cezurity collects, generalizes and transfers for the analysis to Cezurity Cloud cloud information on the boot sectors of computers and also on other critical areas of a system which could be changed as a result of infection. Collection of information at the same time happens at the lowest level which is brought closer to hardware i.e., without use of means of the operating system. Data retrieveds are generalized and exposed to several analysis types which occurs in Cezurity Cloud cloud. One of analysis types – checking of the data obtained from different computers. As a result of such checking anomalies which analysis allows to draw a conclusion on whether a system was infected come to light.
Also function of detection of the harmful expansions created for the Russian browsers – Yandex.Browser and the Mail.ru browser is added to version 3.0 of the Virus Scanner. Though the same Chromium platform developed by Google company is the cornerstone of these browsers, each of products needs separate protection. Thus, today the Virus Scanner is capable to detect harmful expansions for all widespread in Russia and the CIS of browsers: Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Yandex.Browser, Mail.ru browser.
Virus scanner 2.6
The Cezurity company announced a release of version 2.6 of the cloud service on July 17, 2013.
Cleaning of expansions of browsers
In the new version detection of harmful expansions of browsers for Chrome and Firefox is implemented. Besides, methods of treatment of computers for the infections caused by malware, difficult and steady against removal, are improved.
"Sometimes modern technologies are strongly simplified by life to virus writers, - Kirill Presnyakov, the leading virus analyst of Cezurity noted, - usually the malware needs to bypass behavioural mechanisms of protection, to be fixed in a system and then it can be all the same detected by an antivirus. Browser expansions in itself solve a part of problems. First, it is simple to set them - for this purpose popular browsers offer several mechanisms. Secondly, does not require any additional efforts fixing in a system, and for updating it is possible to use browser mechanisms - they are badly controlled by network screens. Thirdly, not all antiviruses can detect such infection. All this leads to sharp reduction of requirements to virus writers. Earlier for the similar attacks they had to solve uncommon problems that required quite high qualification. Now it is incomparable more simply and quicker - creation of the malware requires knowledge of JavaScript and couple of days".
Difficulties of detecting of harmful expansions of browsers are in many respects connected with the fact that classical antiviruses usually analyze files separately, i.e. independently of each other. The cloud technology of Cezurity Cloud which is the cornerstone of work of the Virus Scanner allows to estimate a system cut. It gives the chance to see how this or that file can be used and, respectively, recognize its harmful character.
The Antiivrusny Scanner is capable to protect from harmful expansions the most popular browsers - Firefox, Chrome and also Internet Explorer.
Also in the new version the mechanism of treatment of computers for the infections caused by malware, difficult and steady against removal, is considerably improved. Today efforts of cybercriminals are directed not only on infection of computers - in modern malware are often used as the methods for concealment of presence at a system (rootkits), and means interfering treatment by antiviruses.
Updating
For transition to the new version users of the Virus Scanner do not need to take any actions - updating is automatic.
