ALCS - Adjustable Length Cabel System - a new optical cable system with a regulated length.

With its help it is possible to build ^[1] in apartment houses much quicker and cheaper, due to use of detachable joints and stocks of length of cables in a special cross box.

Characteristics, methods, appointment

The system designation of ALCS - simplification and reduction in cost of process of laying of PON networks in town apartment houses. At the heart of it a technique the eight-cabled optical cable of regulated length serves. Industrially make its okontsovka SC/APC connectors, however, upon the demand of the customer LC connectors can be used. Cable length can vary from 30 to 200 m, and its ends are protected by flexible tubes. They allow to make without damages of connectors laying of optical fiber on vertical struts of apartment houses.

Cable stock

The ALCS system assumes installation of an optical cord one end in the distribution cabinet placed in the cellar, and to others - in a special cross box on the required floor of the building. The cross box is executed wall (dimensions: 190kh160kh70mm) also has the special coil with a stock to 20 m. At the expense of it there is an opportunity to adjust length of the laid cable. This feature considerably simplifies cable laying on low-current struts of entrances of houses as when laying it is optional to know necessary cable length precisely.

Stock of a patchkord

The following important feature is existence in the cross box of a compartment for placement of a stock of the connected patchkord up to 2 m long. Therefore, there is no need to measure lengths of the patchkord laid to apartments on the floor. From here advantage that the cable system with a regulated cable length of ALCS allows creation of PON networks in MCD using only the detachable standardized joints. This advantage excludes need of production of welding of optical fibers "on site" therefore during installation it is not necessary to have the expensive equipment. It should be noted that use of detachable joints leads to significant savings of time of deployment of network, and process comes down to a set of the simple transactions which are not requiring presence of highly qualified specialists.

The ALCS system consists of the miniature optical cable, the cross box with the special coil and patchkord with optical G.657A fiber.
