Navicon implemented the system of the analytical reporting of KOMOS Group LLC - Trading company on the IBM Cognos BI platform

In April, 2014 the second of joint projects of KOMOS GROUP Group and Navicon is complete. In KOMOS Group LLC Branch - Trading company is created the system of the analytical reporting on the IBM Cognos BI platform. In a project deliverable in the company the tools which increased efficiency and reliability of reports on the main business processes are implemented.

Goal

Trading company operational obtaining comprehensive and detailed managerial reports was the purpose of creation of an analytical system in KOMOS Group LLC Branch-. It was for this purpose necessary to use data which the company fixes in the different information systems implemented at different times and with different approaches to data processing. Therefore for collecting, processing and consolidation of data from diverse sources the Navicon command developed the data warehouse based on Microsoft SQL Server 2008. Information from ERP systems of Microsoft Dynamics AH 2009, KAS "Business Lux" and the system of budget management on the IBM Cognos TM1 platform comes to this storage.

In a basis

Originally for formation of budgets specialists of KOMOS GROUP used Excel. A task – to develop a pilot budgeting system and full-fledged reporting system which will allow to automate process of consolidation of aggregated data from each enterprise on the level of management company with the subsequent visualization of planned and actual data on the preconfigured reports and a working panel of the head for a project team.

Determination of the contractor of the project took place within the tender in which victory was won by Navicon company. The automated system is developed on the IBM Cognos TM1 platform. Development of an automated system of the reporting is IBM Cognos BI.

Project Progress

In the project progress:

• The pilot budgeting system allowing to receive a summary financial result according to reporting financial budgets is developed: Income and expenditure budget (income and expense budget), Budget of Cash Flow (BCF), Balance

• Reporting system using which the plan-fact analysis of indicators of activities of the company for reports is carried out is developed:

1. Financial plan fact reports:

• The income and expenditure budget (income and expense budget) with a possibility of detailing to the primary document;
• The Budget of Cash Flow (BCF) with a possibility of detailing before primary transaction;
• The sales report with a possibility of detailing to a brand, the region of implementation, the sales channel;
• The report on receivables with detailing to each debtor;
• Report on cost of sales;

2. Reports on production and financial performance of activity of the company: daily, weekly and monthly. 3. The block of any reporting allowing users to model reports from available the analyst of a budgeting system and the reporting.

Result

The data warehouse and reporting system implemented by specialists of Navicon on the IBM Cognos BI platform give opportunities of the summary and detailed analysis of activity and also the plan fact of indicators of the company for the directions:

• Sales
• Purchases
• Economy and pricing
• Receivables
• Logistics

One of features of the project is implementation of plan-fact efficiency analysis of work of transport, for example, of such key indicators as: costs in terms of distance km, run, a point, % of load of transport, level of accomplishment of orders.
