On July 22, 2013 Check Point Software Technologies Ltd announced the output of hardware device 13500 — the firstborn in a new line of equipment 13000 which will add a range of offers of the company in the field of ensuring network security of data processing centers.

Description

Check Point 13500 has flash-like high-speed performance taking into account capacity of the firewall of equal 23.6 Gbps in real time, capacity of an intrusion prevention system of 5.7 Gbps and security system of 3200 SPU (SecurityPower Units).

In addition to the most modern hardware architecture, a HSS 13500 contains a broad spectrum of program improvements and accelerators which, in turn, optimize use of the hardware. Device 13500 supports multi-layer system of protection of Check Point with four preset security sets: Next Generation Firewall, Threat Prevention, Data Protection and Secure-Web Gateway. These sets allow to integrate means of protecting in one device, providing the increased efficiency of protection of the organizations against purposeful threats and other sophisticated attacks.

2014: Testing of Threat Prevention technology

On September 24, 2014 Check Point Software Technologies reported - the Check Point Threat Prevention system achieved result in 100% according to the results of comparative testing for detection of unknown threats.

According to the results of recently held testing of 300 unknown of harmful files underwent scanning by the gateways of security of Check Point 13500 united in the ThreatCloud system, and several competing products from three other suppliers in information security field.

All platforms which took part in testing used the maximum number of services of prevention of threats (IPS, Anti-Malware, Anti-Bot, Threat Emulation) and the newest set of signatures.

Results of testing showed - Check Point bypasses the competing solutions, detecting 100% of unknown harmful files. The system which took the second place could reveal only 70%. Among 300 harmful files: 40% of PDF, 40% of EXE and 20% of DOC files.
