St. Petersburg will release mobile application for complaints to housing and public utilities

Until the end of 2013 St. Petersburg is going to start mobile application which will allow citizens to announce quickly officials problems in the field of housing and public utilities, improvement and other spheres of life activity of the city.

The application is a part of the project on development of the Our St. Petersburg portal created within implementation of the principles of the open government in the city. Residents of St. Petersburg and through a special form on this portal will be able to send messages to the authorities about the detected city problems.

For submission of the address via the website it will be required to fill several obligatory fields, including the description of a problem, date of its emergence and the specific address. Also it will be possible to attach on the address photo and video files.

It will be possible to be registered on the portal not only due to creation of the login and the password, but also using already existing account in social network "VKontakte". Also the possibility of the publication in this social network of notifications on actions of the user with his messages on the portal will be provided.

Mobile application for communication with officials will work on the tablets and smartphones working running Android OS of the version not lower than 4.0 and iOS of the version is not lower 5, and advance registration on the Our St. Petersburg portal will be necessary for its use, follows from terms of reference of the project.

As envisioned by the authorities, the application should have most simplified user interface providing submission of the message with the minimum quantity of clicks and as a form on the website to provide a possibility of transfer with its help not only descriptions of a problem, but also photographic materials.

It should be noted that in Moscow the application with similar functionality – "A mobile reception" - appeared in 2011. With its help the authorities can also send messages about problems in the field of municipal economy, accompanying them with photos.

In January, 2013 the St. Petersburg authorities also started the mobile application of Gosuslugi Sankt-Peterburga allowing to obtain the reference information about the local organizations which are taking part in providing the public and municipal services and also to check the status of the address submitted earlier via the regional portal of state services or the multifunction centers of providing state services.
