Biography

In 1987, after graduating from the city Physics and Mathematics Lyceum No. 239, he entered the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute (later renamed the State Technical University), at the Faculty of Technical Cybernetics.

In January 1995, he received a master's degree from St. Petersburg State Technical University with a degree in systems engineering.

In February 1995, according to the competition, he received the position of a freelance trainee correspondent in the newspaper Delovoy Petersburg (owner - Swedish publishing concern Bonnier Business Press). Six months later he was invited to the editorial staff, and six months later he became the editor of the section "Personnel/Staff."

He worked in the newspaper Delovoy Petersburg until June 1998, successively holding the posts of correspondent (on the topics of Telecommunications, Bankruptcy/Crisis Management, Defense Industry), editor of the Information Technology application, editor of the Company News department, editor of the combined News department.

In July 1998, together with two editors of Business Petersburg, he co-founded CJSC Northwest Media Group, from which the Russian Publishing Group COMNEWS (headquartered in Moscow and office in St. Petersburg) grew a few years later.

Since the founding of the company to this day, Leonid Konik has been one of the three co-owners and editor-in-chief of the COMNEWS Publishing Group.

Publications

In addition to publications in his own editions of the COMNEWS group (online newspaper ComNews.ru, business magazine Standard, yearbooks Encyclopedia of Communications and Who is Who in Telecommunications in Russia), he is the author of numerous articles and reviews in the newspapers Vedomosti, Kommersant, Vedomosti Forum, and also acts as an expert for these publications.
