The government of the Chuvash Republic creates the geoportal of infrastructure of space data

The Esri CIS company completed the first stage of works on creation of a geoinformational portal of the infrastructure of space data (ISD) of the Chuvash Republic, the press service of the company reported on July 26, 2013.

Project Background

The project is implemented according to the Decree on creation of a cross-industry complex geographic information system (GIS). The portal is available to the address sdi.cap.ru

Main objectives of creation of IPD of the Chuvash Republic:

• stimulation of economic development of the region,
• investment attraction,
• quality improvement of management of the republic,
• increase in efficiency and interaction of each republican department.

Project Progress

At this stage on the portal the set of data sets and information layers, including information contains about:

• land plots, free from building,
• objects of cultural heritage,
• republican organizations and so forth.

Platform of the project

At the heart of the created system the complex product IPD "Region" including server and desktop products Esri ArcGIS, providing functions of search, the publication, viewing and use of space data, administrations and managements of access rights to these or those sets of space data.
