The partner of SAP will teach to earn RusHydro from DPCs

In the fall of 2013 RusHydro completed open competitive negotiations on the choice of contract organization for design of network of interconnected DPCs and implementation of a pilot project on creation of one pilot filial DPC. Following the results accomplishment of these works is going to entrust the golden partner of SAP -A-Energy Systems, having taken away on project implementation no more than 14 months from the moment of signing of the contract.

The system of DPCs which should be designed for RusHydro, provides the subsequent placement of data centers on platforms of all branches of the company and creation, or upgrade of two DPCs for their functioning as central, said in the project documentation. In total RusHydro has 19 branches in different regions of the country.

Decided unroll network of DPCs RusHydro with the purpose to provide branches of the company with computing resources and to implement a procedure for granting of services of DPCs to internal functional customers and also to provide reliability of work of the information supplements due to their transfer to cloud infrastructure.

Besides, RusHydro expects to lower operating costs for service of the IT infrastructure due to implementation of a procedure for granting of commercial services to third parties based on own DPCs, said in the project documentation. For this purpose within the project A-Energy Systems will also have to develop the list of commercial services which can be provided based on DPCs, and the recommendation about pricing in this area.

The platform for pilot filial DPC is not selected yet: it should be defined in the project progress. On the basis of pilot DPC it is going "roll" a technique of transfer of applications in cloud infrastructure and work of the solution on ensuring fault tolerance of key applications. During creation of pilot DPC the reserve of capacities intended for commercial use also should be created.

As of the beginning of 2013 RusHydro has one data center located in Kitaigorodsky Drive in Moscow. Computing resources of the center are provided, mainly,by HP solutions, for virtualization solutions of VMware are used. It is supposed that they will be used also in new DPCs of the company.

It should be noted that RusHydro and A-Energy Systems already cooperated earlier: almost all indicative projects specified on the website of the last are related to this customer. In particular, earlier the company performed for RusHydro works on creation of an end-to-end system of document flow, on HCM SAP ERP system implementation for personnel management, the systems of complex automation of commercial scheduling and some others.
