The Pireus Bank implements the QlikView system, the press service of bank reported on August 6, 2013.
Start of Project
Stable development of Pireus Banka demands from its management of constant control over efficiency of each of divisions. Earlier Pireus Bank used several analytical systems for the business analysis, however the management of bank had a need for more flexible and convenient solution which would allow to consolidate and transform the existing data according to those conditions which are exposed by management. The possibility of creation of scripts and aggregation of data from different sources was also important requirement to a new solution.
"In spite of the fact that at the level of Group Pireus of QlikView Bank is used quite actively, we made a choice for benefit of this solution independently, – Tatyana Bondarenko, the head of department of the management reporting Pireus Banka noted.
When choosing the solution the fact that during hard crisis time the structure of bank changed was considered, and it was necessary to transfer indicators from some divisions to others, sometimes saving history, and sometimes not. Using QlikView system algorithms, it was succeeded to configure such transformation in reports. Start of implementation preceded a pilot project within which specialists of RBC Group company provided to management Pireus Banka the application for the analysis of the loan portfolio. On development of the pilot application four days left. Having tested possibilities of the application, the management of bank made the decision on start of the project.
Project Progress
One of essential project deliverables, according to employees Pireus Banka - lack of need of involvement of IT specialists for formation of analytical reports. Earlier managers of divisions could not build independently consolidated analytical reports without IT department. The QlikView applications allow to do it as for this purpose IT knowledge is not necessary.
"In particular, specialists of bank had an opportunity to receive detailing according to transactions, – the head of department of the management reporting Pireus Banka Tatyana Bondarenko told. – In B2 system there are many indicators according to each transaction, however standard means of the accounting system we cannot "pull out" them and reduce in one file. Using QlikView we tried to create an optimal set of the indicators interesting to the analysis. These indicators can be visualized in a table format, and there is an opportunity to add or remove any cuts and thus to build certain formats of reports which allow to do rather deep analysis of the events".
