The UNIKA company transferred a part of the IT processes to "cloud" with the assistance of operator of cloud services De Novo, the press service of operator reported on August 6, 2013.

Project Background

Transition to cloud computing allowed UNIKA insurance company to receive continuous available service from traditional model of calculations, to unify IT components, to cut down expenses on IT, to repeatedly raise degree of security of data and to release resources for high-quality development. All this in a complex promoted quality improvement of customer service of "UNIKA", in particular, of efficiency of sale of insurance agreements.

Project Progress

Transfer of IT processes from traditional model of storage and data processing to hybrid cloud computing began with implementation of virtualization in UNIKA company in 2009 and took more than three years. Beginning this process, the management of "UNIKA" proceeded from need of improvement of scalability of infrastructure at simultaneous reliability augmentation.

Tatyana Zakoty, the director of the department of information technologies of UNIKA insurance company, noted: "At the beginning of 2013 the central office "UNIKA" moved to the new building, and the IT department of the company was faced the need of ensuring smooth operation of the main IT services during this period. As a result, it was necessary to transfer a part of computing infrastructure of the company. Invaluable support in process of migration was provided with specialists of De Novo company. Test environments were provided to us for migration plan development and also all necessary documentation, as well as support of specialists of VMware and experts of De Novo. As a result of everything in three days we received a working landscape of a part of our infrastructure and successfully performed migration process".
Maxim Ageev, the CEO of De Novo, emphasized: "Now a part of IT infrastructure of UNIKA company works in the De Novo cloud environment. Reliability and the continuity of providing IT services reached thanks to the implemented IT model allow "UNIKA" to compete much more effectively in domestic insurance market. Thanks to cloud computing the company can quickly adapt the information opportunities for the changing market landscape, increasing or reducing a pool of computing resources".
