Flex System x222 is the new computing node of double density on the basis of architecture of x86 supporting up to 2800 user images of Windows 7 in one chassis.

From the Blue giant and considerable expansion of the range of the Flex System family the press service of corporation announced emergence of a new product on August 8, 2013.

Description

The IBM company provided powerful servers of architecture of x86 with the new server module containing two processors which will help to accelerate implementation of cloud and virtual infrastructures. The Flex system is based on new design of payments where two motherboards a blade server integrate in one packet which then can be connected to one connector. It doubles the power of processors, memories, the means of storage and other hardware resources available on one socket.




The Flex System x222 server works on the x86 processor and will be equipped with the multichip module in which each socket works with two Intel Xeon processors E5-2400. 14 server slots in a rack of the chassis 10U high are able to provide computing power of 28 servers. At the same time, each server supports up to 384 GB OZU, has slots for solid state drives. On each 10U chassis with the Flex x222 server it is possible to turn at the same time 2800 virtual machines with Windows OS.
