Mary Kay completes an implementation project of a system of analytics

Within the complex project the BI Partner company began creation of a BI system for Mary Kay company on the IBM Cognos BI platform, the press service of integrator reported on August 19, 2013.

Project Results

On April 7, 2014 the BI Partner company announced completion of creation of an analytical information system for Mary Kay company.

Entered project tasks: cutting of costs for data integration, providing high degree of relevance of information and transition to essentially new level of its processing.

The information system created in Mary Kay is intended for data analysis about sales of products of the company, planning and forecasting of sale, assortment management. For the organization of the data warehouse within a new solution the MS SQL Server, as the platform for a business intelligence – IBM Cognos BI is used.

The main sources of information are the systems of own development based on the MS SQL Server for an inventory control and the Oracle platform for automation of processing of orders. Within the project, the lasted a little more than half a year, specialists of BI Partner conduct examination of data sources, requirements to interfaces are prepared, the code of data is designed and BI components, including the reports of Cognos ReportStudio configured on individual requirements of different categories of users and a set of representations QueryStudio for analysis tasks are developed.

The selected architecture provided three important qualities: flexibility – mass making changes in a data model without alteration of already available area, good scalability – there are no restrictions on increase in the sizes of the data warehouse, high performance – the complexity and cost of loading processes of data is reduced", – Sergey Sukharev, the head BI experts of BI Partner company noted.
