muz.ru as reserve DPC selects the Microsoft platform

"IFD of Kapital" transferred a reserve data processing center of the MUZ.RU project to Windows Azure, the press service of content provider of public "cloud" Microsoft reported on August 20, 2013.

Project Background

"Cloud computing of Microsoft showed convincing advantages in the solution of the tasks set for us. We began to use Windows Azure during creation of a prototype of the National Register of digital content for which permanent availability of computing resources with unpredictable loading and high processing speed of content was required. During updating of a hardware and software system of the main DPC we completely moved loading to cloud reserve data center and continued to provide to users services, – Sergey Sichkar, the board member of the IFD of Kapital Group, the director of IT development noted. – Successful experience with Windows Azure convinced us of MUZ.RU to begin a pilot project on creation of reserve DPC in a cloud and for financial services of the IFD of Kapital Group".

By August 20, 2013 in reserve DPC in "cloud" about 100 virtual cars of different power which manage more than 150 Tb of data are turned. In addition to reliability and elasticity "cloud" Microsoft also allows to receive the high speed of placement of content and return to his consumers: within the project the speed of loading of media content of MUZ.RU was 50 MB/s. Besides, it was succeeded to optimize the speed and latency of return of content to the level which provides stream transfer of content more than 100 thousand users.
