Development of the Automated System of Information storage for JSC SO UES
"System Operator of the Unified Energy System" open joint stock company (JSC SO UES) V December, 2009 selected Krikunov i Partnery Business Sistemy (KPBS Ltd) Ltd company as the developer of the AUTOMATED SYSTEM of INFORMATION STORAGE FOR THE PURPOSE OF AGGREGATION of DATA of the PLANNED DISPATCHING DIAGRAM
The project budget made more 200th person of days.
System development is performed for the benefit of directorate on development and maintenance of the markets of JSC SO UES.
Project Objectives
- Creation of the system allowing to get the consolidated data access of the main information systems of the Customer
- Providing means to employees of the Customer for the carrying out operational data analysis and formation both standard (predeterminated), and any (not predetermined in advance) reports.
- Creation of the interface of display of the key indicators allowing to display in a compact and evident type a status and trends of change of key indicators on information systems of the Customer.
The structure of project works included:
- Analysis and description of data structures and processing of these information systems of the Customer.
- The description of structure of data for the analysis and creation of reports.
- Preparation and approval of technical specifications on the created system.
- The choice and justification of application of the platform for creation of a system.
- The description of structures of the multidimensional arrays conforming to the requirement to structure of reports and method of aggregation of data in reports.
- Process description of preliminary data loading.
- Creation of software for display of key indicators with a possibility of formation for certain users of individual set of the displayed indicators and also individual determination of a method of visualization of indicators.
- Creation of software for data access, creations, accomplishment, editing requests to the OLAP system of end users.
- Development of regulations of updating of data of a system.
- Carrying out system testing, joint with Customer.
- Software implementation at the Customer.
Specifics of the project:
- Integration and aggregation of data from a large number of operational information systems of the Customer.
- The big and laborious work connected with reduction of these different ICs to the uniform regulatory base is carried out.
- Multilevel hierarchical aggregation of data. Complexity of algorithms of aggregation. A large number of the calculated indicators (KPI).
- The large volume of the data loaded from external systems:
- Data on the balancing market are volumes, price requests, indicators;
- Data on readiness of the generating equipment for electricity production;
- Data on deviations of volumes of the actual hourly production of electrical energy from set in PBR and on initiatives of deviations;
- Given on the transferred dispatching commands;
- Data on the actual volumes of generation, consumption and overflows of the electric power;
- Data on certification of the generating equipment;
- Data on monitoring of JSC FGC;
- Data on competitive output coupling;
- Given to a design model (schemes and the electric modes of network).
Functional units (subsystems) developed within the project
The interaction module with external data sources
- Extraction of data from external information systems;
- Conversion of input data to the type convenient for loading in the data warehouse of a System. At a conversion stage function should provide possibilities of data filtering, data scrubbing, removal of duplicates, aggregations of data, etc.;
- Data loading in the data warehouse of a System. Function should support the mode of a full load of data, and takzherezhy loadings of the changed (added) data.
Data warehouse
- Providing these information systems of the Customer as uniform data space;
- Providing fast data loading when processing (processing) of data arrays of OLAP;
- Prevention of impact of processes of analytical data processing for work of information systems of the Customer;
- Creation of the data marts providing the solution of analytical tasks of specific subject.
OLAP server
- The analysis of compliance of the current indicators planned and the analysis of the reasons of deviations by detailing of indicators (variance analysis);
- The analysis of dependences between different changes (the analysis of dependences);
- Identification of trends of changes of indicators in time (the analysis of dynamics);
- Comparison of results of change of an indicator on temporary sign, on geographical sign, for the set groups of other indicators;
- The analytic functions including functions:
- Interrelations of several events (association);
- Chains of the events connected in time (sequence);
- Identification of the signs characterizing group using the analysis of earlier classified objects (classification);
- Identification of homogeneous groups of data (clustering);
- Search of the templates reflecting dynamics of change of these or those indicators (forecasting);
- Providing formation of key performance indicators (KPI);
- Ensuring functioning of graphic dashboards.
Client interface
- Carrying out multidimensional data analysis;
- Creation of reports of any form on the basis of the available data;
- Possibility of display of the data aggregated on different signs (on time, structures of objects, territorial signs);
- Possibility of use of functions of a research of data (Data mining) of the OLAP server;
- Possibility of preserving of the created template for the subsequent reuse;
- Possibility of information transform, received as a result of system operation in formats of the data used by office systems (RTF, Excel);
The output module in external systems
- Output of random data, indicators, results of report execution in external information systems (databases, websites).
Administration module
- Authentication of users and authorization of their access to System resources;
- Configuration management of a System in general and also its components;
- Maintaining the list of all resources of a System requiring access isolation;
- Management of the list of roles of users.
- Serviceability check of a System and the notification of the administrator on violations in work;
- Possibility of accomplishment of processes of a system according to the schedule, an ability to manage processes and control of accomplishment of processes.
Project Result:
Project objectives are achieved completely. An analytical system allows directorate to analyze quickly the market of power industry and to quickly make reasoned decisions on its regulation.
Additional information
Since 7/1/2011 a system is put into commercial operation.
